Re: Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam - UK dates - announced

I think I must have too much time on my hands at the moment. I'm not often the first with news and this makes it twice in one week.

Anyway have a look at :

http://www.mamagroup.co.uk/borderline/

Davy is playing The Borderline in London on 7th October which is great news and entry is only 6 quid cool

Sadly, I won't be there as it's my youngest son's birthday sad  Ah well.

Davy's website shows he's also doing a gig in Douglas, Isle of Man on 12th October.

What isn't mentioned here, but was in the Blog Post was these are 2 exclusive UK dates before the band leaves for Australia to perform @ the One Movement For Music Festival. No date for that show was included.

Roy, 21st November is rapidly turning into one of those days when a lot of us here will be on the road to one gig or another. smile

David, I’ve just checked and the Borderline has a minimum age limit of 14, so try to persuade your youngest. Tell him you’ll introduce him to Davy; that may do the trick. wink

J Dawg, these two exclusive gigs are the ones in London and the Isle of Man.

Apparently Duncan got quite excited when he heard that Davy was playing Perth until he found out that it was Perth, Australia. Now that would be a road trip. lol

Hmmmm.....I was just checking distances between cities and between London and Perth, Australia it would be 14,487 km or 9,003 miles. You might want to bring a little extra boat fuel along with you guys. But hey, I've probably traveled that far in total to see Joe play, some of it on a bus! So yes, it is within the realm of possibility. wink

Roy, Phil, it certainly crossed my mind and I kind of mentioned it sort of subtly in passing but I got a "bit of a look" from my wife as she wants to go out for a family meal.

I don't want to push my luck when I'm planning to go off to Amsterdam for Gov't  Mule and then 2 days later take off again for the Blues Assembly weekend at Leamington so I think it might be politic to pass on Davy's gig  I'm afraid.

Re: Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam - UK dates - announced

I know the feeling David, home life prevails over everything. I've seen both groups and I must say, I'd rather see Davy and BDS than Gov't Mule. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I'm very much hoping for a Liverpool gig....it's only a short distance from the Isle of Man!
Don't think the Borderline or the one in Douglas are viable for me sad

Looking forward to reading your interview Duncan ......and remember ...our couch is always available for you if necessity dictates smile

Flights from Blackpool to the IOM are really cheap Tripsy and accomodation is quite reasonable in Douglas at this time of year. The problem will be getting tickets I guess. I wonder how Adam and Ross will feel, when Davy "Returns" with new band members! It was they that helped lay the foundations for Davy's current success and that's not meant to take anything away from Davy's obvious skills.

Quite agree with you Tripsy, it's the International Guitar Festival on the Wirral in November and I'm sure they could get a slot at Pacific Road in Birkenhead. 800 capacity, a great venue where Joe has played several times. I for one would do my damndest to promote as mush as I could! A perfect fit you might say.

Re: Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam - UK dates - announced

After much searching on the Interweb, I found out that the BDS trip to Australia is not just to Perth. They are also playing Sydney & Melbourne (already ordered my ticket). Might put this in a separate thread so that the Aussies will notice it.

The Sydney & Melbourne dates weren't even on his website when I checked, so there might not be much publicity for the shows.

Re: Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam - UK dates - announced

Looks like their management are looking at Pacific Road as a possibility on their way to the Isle of Man after the Borderline gig. They are a bit worried about lead time for promotion though. I suggest you check the BDS website for more info as it's not really on to promote here on Joe's site, even though it is the other artists section. Do hope they can pull it together.
