Topic: Bergen PAC show review!

What a great show! Susan and I have seen Joe over 10 times and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. We brought 4 newbies and all were very impressed.

First night with new sound and lights, all was perfect. We were up in the 2nd row balcony and were a little worried about the sound going under us, but this was not an issue. One of the best sounding shows we've seen. New lights were very cool.

Joe came on in all white with an amazing looking Gibson Firebird and started with "Had to Cry Today".
Here's the full list:
-Had to cry today (Firebird)-Haven't heard this live since our first Joe show in Newport RI in 2006.
-So it's like that (Firebird)-first time seeing this live, faster version.
-Last Kiss (Les Paul)
-So Many Roads (LP)
-Bridge to Better days (Goldtop)
-Sloe Gin (Gold Top)
-Lonesome Road Blues (LP) with special guest drummer-Anton Fig!
-Happier Times (LP)
-Further on up the Road(Gold Top)
-Great Flood (Gold Top)
-Woke up Dreaming-With a great new instrumental intro, very classical/flemenco sound.
-Just got paid/Dazed and Confused- (flying V)
Encore:
-Ball Peen Hammer (acoustic)
-Mountain Time (strat looking guitar?)

Said Hi to Rick before the show, very personable as always. As we were walking in, I caught a glimpse of someone walking off the bus with a beret and thought "I wonder if that's Anton?". Sure enough it was!

Had a nice chat with Warren after the show, what a nice guy! We talked about RAH, the new truck, and some of his other experiences, very cool...

Said hi to Joe and Roy for a few minutes at the bus, and called it a night.

All in all a perfect "Joe Bonamassa experience". See you all at the "Hot August Blues" on Saturday! big_smile cool

Bill,
Thanks for posting the pics.  Can you believe we forgot the camera?  Anyway, looks like you were close to the front and got a lot of nice ones. smile

Aaahh, that was you wearing the metallic JB shirt?  If so, I've been  reading your posts for a long time and it's good to now put a face with your name.  smile

Hey folks, new member here, Joe fan of course.  Just wanted to say thanks for the song list -- I used that and a few of Bill's photos (credited at end of post!) in my blog post today, reviewing the show and the pre-show clinic.  I got as much detail as I could -- hope you find it interesting.  Here is the link if you're curious.

Bill, if you don't want me to use your photos for some reason, just let me know -- but hopefully you do!

It's been a long time since I've seen Joe live, and so far he's batting 1,000!

Thanks Bill, much appreciated.  smile

Re: Bergen PAC show review!

Thanks for the review Ken, and the pics, Bill.  Can't believe I couldn't make this one, had ticket in hand but was a long day with mom going into hospital and consequently me not setting up the GPS correctly...wasn't meant to be, just upset that it'll be awhile until I get to see them again. sad

Glad you all enjoyed the show smile
