Topic: Bergen PAC show review!
What a great show! Susan and I have seen Joe over 10 times and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. We brought 4 newbies and all were very impressed.
First night with new sound and lights, all was perfect. We were up in the 2nd row balcony and were a little worried about the sound going under us, but this was not an issue. One of the best sounding shows we've seen. New lights were very cool.
Joe came on in all white with an amazing looking Gibson Firebird and started with "Had to Cry Today".
Here's the full list:
-Had to cry today (Firebird)-Haven't heard this live since our first Joe show in Newport RI in 2006.
-So it's like that (Firebird)-first time seeing this live, faster version.
-Last Kiss (Les Paul)
-So Many Roads (LP)
-Bridge to Better days (Goldtop)
-Sloe Gin (Gold Top)
-Lonesome Road Blues (LP) with special guest drummer-Anton Fig!
-Happier Times (LP)
-Further on up the Road(Gold Top)
-Great Flood (Gold Top)
-Woke up Dreaming-With a great new instrumental intro, very classical/flemenco sound.
-Just got paid/Dazed and Confused- (flying V)
Encore:
-Ball Peen Hammer (acoustic)
-Mountain Time (strat looking guitar?)
Said Hi to Rick before the show, very personable as always. As we were walking in, I caught a glimpse of someone walking off the bus with a beret and thought "I wonder if that's Anton?". Sure enough it was!
Had a nice chat with Warren after the show, what a nice guy! We talked about RAH, the new truck, and some of his other experiences, very cool...
Said hi to Joe and Roy for a few minutes at the bus, and called it a night.
All in all a perfect "Joe Bonamassa experience". See you all at the "Hot August Blues" on Saturday!
