Topic: Amp baffle
Hi,
I built a small amp baffle for my Valvetech Hayseed to see how effective it works
in smaller clubs. Its always crucial with the ampvolume here. The thing is, if you put the baffle in front
then the sound becomes very boxy and unpleasant. I was never a believer in having my guitarsound on the monitor
and rather prefer the amp behind me. So the best working method for me was to have the baffle around 15" (40 cm)
from the amp. The deeper positioned audience wasn't bothered with the loud volume.
I was standing close enough and higher of course to the amp that the sound "jumped" over the shield.
If you hang a mic in front it works best with the space (in my case a Sennheiser E609)
I will use it always now in smaller venues. Very good.
