I wanted to touch back on this thread to say I did see Walter Trout play at the Tampa Bay Blues Festival and he was great, just as I expected he would be. And Roy, you're right, I did get the opportunity to meet him and have a pic taken after show. He is a very nice guy.
Anyway, I found this article about him that you might find interesting.

I enjoyed the entire article, but found this part quite interesting.
On his most recent CD "Full Circle," he plays a range of blues styles, and reunites with music friends from his past like Mayall, Coco Montoya, Bernard Allison, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Sardinas, Guitar Shorty, Finis Tasby, Junior Watson, James Harman, Deacon Jones and Jeff Healey.
About the CD, he says, "The idea for the album goes back to the spontaneity and jamming tradition among blues players. I started thinking about knowing all of these great musicians and ask myself, why don't I see who I can get into the studio and jam with. And then it kind of evolved into, yeah, let's jam but how about if we sit down and write a song to jam on. For all these people to come in, and be on my CD, it was very moving for me. They were saying, hey Walter, we like what your doing, we're here for you. Sometimes I put that CD on and just start crying."
I don't have this cd, but I just listened to samples of it and I like it a lot.
