Topic: Jay Tamkin Band
Here’s a new name for most of you, Jay Tamkin.
The Jay Tamkin Band are an up and coming rock blues band from Torquay who over the course of the last 18 months have toured the UK, Europe The US. They have been snapped up by German label ROKOKO/In-akustik & their album "Sorted" was released on last week.
Jay Tamkin is a funky rock blues guitarist who like so many is influenced by SRV, Walter Trout and Hendrix, at 22 years old, and is a hot shot guitarist who is on the way up.
Jay learnt his craft with Devon Youth Jazz , Jools Hollands, Dennis Rollins, to name a few; In the last 2 years he and his band opened for the likes of Ian Parker, Aynsley Lister, Ian Siegal, Nine Below Zero, Sherman Robertson, Roy Ayers, MAN, Danny Bryant, POPA CHUBBY, Stan Webb's CHICKEN SHACK.
A fresh, exciting player with as many good songs as he has explosive licks in his locker, Jay Tamkin is one of the most exciting up and coming guitar players on the circuit.
