Only use the F word out of respect for Joe..really just joking...My roomie just bought a mahogany red Strat with a black pick guard and named "her" Cathy..I'm humbled. He also got a Blues Deluxe amp and a Jekyl and Hyde pedal. He's not here so I can't give you any more specs. He did say that Fender was about to raise their prices..I think he said 30%  OUCH!!!  Cathy

Yeah people need to buy while the gettins good. I snuck out a Baja Tele for $800 just in time for the price raise.

As I said on an another topics, I Have a 2006 stratocaster hot rod 1962 reissue and all I can say is that it's an Amazing guitar. That's sound great for bluesrock.

Rocket, I started this thread because I was fed up seeing people nay-saying Fender just because Joe had a bad experience with the company some time ago. It was never meant to be about Fender being better than Gibson, or anyone else for that matter. I just felt that it was time that some of us here 'got over it' and came to terms with the fact that Fender actually do make good gear (sometimes) and that Joe's bad experience with the Fender company shouldn't cloud our judgement. I know, as someone else so eloquently stated in this thread (although it's strangely missing now as far as I can see....something about heads and other parts of the anatomy I think), that may be more difficult for some than for others but hey, the overall response was pretty good I think.

My Tele as you can see is very sweet (50th anniversary 52 reissue but equipped with Barden PUP's) but I gotta say, my S1 American Strat like this one: http://www.sweetwater.com/guitargallery … DZ8334577/
was the absolute best playable "out of the box" experience I have ever had of the 20 odd "new" guitars I have bought over the years. I will hold onto this Strat for quite a while methinks.....

I have an 08 American made Stratocaster - White, maple fingerboard. Great guitar, has the delta tone. Love it.

I have a 60 year anniversary Mexican made strat, a Mexican rosewood strat and a Mexican made tele. All good guitars, though I am not very happy with the electronics on the rosewood strat.
