Topic: The next generation of blues

I am from fort wayne indiana and my wife and I love the blues.  We recently went to memphis to a conference and found a great blues club, ended up dancing for five hours straight.  We have also visited Buddy Guys' club in chicago.  We are addicted to the blues.  Joe's music has been a real staple for us.  Last night Joe played at the embassy theater in fort wayne and we took our youngest son (18) to the concert.  He loves playing his guitar and writes from the heart.  After the first couple of songs he turned to my wife and I and said he couldn't stop smiling.  He said the music was going through him, over him, around him.  He didn't know how to even comprehend what he was hearing.  I told him welcome to the blues.  Thank you Joe.

I think all of us hear can empathise with what your son and you two feel about Joe's music. You're definitely in the right place.

Re: The next generation of blues

I too welcome you Utesch and really enjoyed the description that your son used to explain Joe's music. My son too plays guitar although he won't be 12 until next month. He's been taking lessons for more than a year and a half now and it amazes me how fast young people catch on. Although he does say he doesn't like Blues music, it makes me laugh to myself that many of the riffs he plays are straight from the heart Blues. I guess it will take another 6 years for him to realize that. smile

Thank You,

Roy

Joe is the Best!
