OH, I almost forgot...Happy B-Day Bob (Tarus52)!!!!

Re: Joe, Derek Trucks, Old Man Brown at Hot August Blues in Md. !!!

That sounds fantastic Cathy. I'm very envious of the great music festivals you get over there.

Another thing you can call it Hot August Blues without any fear of the weather being S***.

Over here you'd have to call it Cold Wet and Muddy August Blues!!

Tripsy smile

Re: Joe, Derek Trucks, Old Man Brown at Hot August Blues in Md. !!!

I guess this is a not to be missed Joe opportunity, especially as it's in Cathy's back yard.

But jeez, Maryland in August. roll

*pouring sweat smilie*

Aaargh, Cathy - how about a visit in August then?! lol

That´s a killer line-up ... especially since I heard the new Derek Trucks album today. I know you said that you didn´t like his playing too much on the cruise Cathy ... but if it sounds anything like the album, I´d love to see these guys ... and Joe and Davy. Can we add Gov´t Mule to the list and maybe Jim Suhler?! That´d be paradise. big_smile

Re: Joe, Derek Trucks, Old Man Brown at Hot August Blues in Md. !!!

Is this a dream line-up or what?  How far from Baltimore is this?  Any info would be appreciated.  I smell a road trip (like I'm not already doing enough this year!)

"There's a lot of people that are in so much of a hurry to be, I guess, to be famous or that they don't want to take the time to learn to play and do all that. They'd rather just knock it down off a computer and maybe get on a game show and get famous..That's fine if that's what you want to do.

Might as well call it " The Hottest Blues Festival on The Face of The Earth"

Unbelievable lineup. I so wish I could go. That would be cool if Patrick Sweaney showed up too.

Eva...I'm serious about that open invite. You would get a chance to have some adventures on the river too. Check out this festival the weekend before..NBT will be playing on the smaller stage... http://www.heritagemusicfest.com/tickets.html  Dangling carrots...Cathy

Cathy or Jane could better tell you, Sandy, but my guess is that it's not more than 20-30 mins from downtown Baltimore and maybe 40 from Baltimore-Washington Int'l Airport if you're thinking about flying in.

Sounds great...though it does tend to get a bit humid 'round these parts in August....I'll be there with a portable fan ;-)

Re: Joe, Derek Trucks, Old Man Brown at Hot August Blues in Md. !!!

Let be clear..All my Bonabuddies are welcome. We can have a camp at my house although there's nobody to fix all that food like Geko's mom did last year in Germany. big_smile I do have central air conditioning which will be appreciated after the show I promise! Further acts TBA, so you never know who else will be there! I'll keep you posted!   Cathy

Hey, I offer to be the cook - I have nothing on Geko´s mum, but well ... lol
I´ll try my best to make this happen, that´s really too good to be true.

Cheapest is £519 per adult, so it's not looking good! Never mind I can watch the you tubes and posts on here. (Pushes bottom lip back into place)

There are a few airports around here...BWI is the closest, but there's Newark, New Jersey and Philadelphia. I am close to the Amtrak Station in Aberdeen Md. and you can get the train from the out of state airports...Even from JFK...Nothings cheap any more...but you won't have hotel charges!  smile  Cathy

Re: Joe, Derek Trucks, Old Man Brown at Hot August Blues in Md. !!!

Ok, I get the picture already. I can see some serious thought and planning coming up for this. Maybe we can arrange to fly together, Eva? wink

For sure. Get on plane in Nürnberg ... First stop: Amsterdam Schiphol - meet up with George, buy 5 boxes of Anthony Berg chocolate, get on plane again ... Second Stop: BWI airport, meet up with Cathy and buy food .... pitch camp at Cathy´s house, get to the festival and ROCK OUT! big_smile
Sounds good to me ...
I thought we´d all be falling into a deep depression once the RAH is over - now we´ve got something new to plan and count days. lol

That's more than decent of you Cathy, thank you. Maybe nearer the time we can have another look, but I don't think it's a reality after where we are going next month - me to the South Pacific and Sue to Mexico?
