Re: ZZ TOP touring?

It's odd, you never see Billy Gibbons or Seasick Steve in the same room. Maybe they're one and the same hmm

Re: ZZ TOP touring?

I know they're recording with Rick Rubin on a new album. Not sure about when that's coming out though.

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Re: ZZ TOP touring?

Re Download, anyone feel a mismatch:

ZZ Top, Marilyn Manson and Killswitch Engage join a line up that is already boasting a great selection of international rock artists. This includes the previously announced headliners Slipknot and Def Leppard

Would be keen to hear ZZ Top, but I could not imagine ever wishing to hear those others names on the bill... and I saw a one time heavy metal fan!

Re: ZZ TOP touring?

Yeah, that's why I don't do Download. I'm no longer a teen metal head with a tattoo! but, why shouldn't The Top do it if they want. Might bring a few metal monkeys over to our way of thinking.

Re: ZZ TOP touring?

I'd like to go to the Sunday (purely because as far as the *rumours* go) Def Leppard/Whitesnake/ZZ Top is mainstage for Sunday!! I don't give a damn about much metal (particularly I question why the hell Slipknot should be given the *privilege* of headlining one of the days... they're a bunch of sadistic hate-filled mask-wearing tag-nuts!) and I see no musical quality in them whatsoever.

ZZ Top, Def Lepp and The 'Snake are purveyors of fine blues-based Classic Rock'n'Roll for a good time. Anybody who's not got Lepp's "...Sparkle Lounge", the 'snakes "Good to be Bad" and ZZ Top's "Mescalero" should check those 3 out. big_smile It's all proof they're still 3 bands who've got it in them.

Re: ZZ TOP touring?

Hi Luke, yes the Sunday does sound the better day. Glad to hear ZZ Top and Slipnot will not be sharing a stage on the same night.

Whitesnake were a superb blues rock band until Moody and Marsden left the band, but Coverdale can still sing a great blues song or two and I have noticed that some of the older songs have returned to their set list. As for Def Leppard, I have to say that they were never my thing and I'd have to say I do not find them blues based in any way. Still better than Slipnot though!

By the way my last post meant to say I was a one time heavy metal fan (seemed to type a word backwards).
