Topic: Delta Lab pedals?

Has anybody else heard of these Delta Lab Pedals or played one yet? I asked my dad about them and he said they used to be a pretty big company back in the day. This company has about 5 pedals out right now. The 2 that interest me though are the "Delay" and "Tube Driver" pedals. They're about 40-60 dollars. Just wondering if anybody has played either of them, and if you guys think it would just be worth it to save up for an actual tube screamer. ---------since we're on the topic, are they any better boost/tube screamer type pedals for a cheaper price that you guys would recommend?

I wasnt impressed w/ the OD pedals but I did buy and have been using thier delay. As a primary delay its pretty cool but I just use it to fatten up solos and melody lines. I use the MXR Carbon Copy as my main delay and LOVE it. But the DL is quiet and warm. For 60 bucks its great.

Re: Delta Lab pedals?

I recently purchased the DeltaLab Chorus and am pretty happy with it.  You can see my previous review on a different thread.  I have heard that Guitar Center bought the rights and name but that's really where the similarities to the old company ends.  I think of them as a "Guitar Center Brand" FX brand.  Distortion/Overdrive pedals are about the most important thing you can put in your chain so I don't really reccomend cheaping out on that.  I'd reccomend a used TS-9 or older model Fulltone Fulldrive if you are looking for fantastic basic OD on a budget.  Check Fulltone's website because they sell used/blems/discontinued pedals all the time for far less than the new ones.  I will say that the DeltaLab pedals seem pretty well build and sturdy for the price and are a great value.  Go to your local Guitar Center and try them for yourself!  Maybe do a little A-B with a Tubescreamer type pedal and see if it can hold it's own?
