Topic: Hey guys

Hey guys, been reading on here for a while about different stuff, so I finally decided to join!

I'll tell a little about myself. I'm a young guitarist, (17), been playing for about 3 and a half years or so, and I never thought I'd admire a guitarist more than Slash or SRV...until I saw Joe. My style has been blues since I started playing, but listening to Joe just elevated it to completely new level. I started listening to Joe about 6 months ago, since I figured out the intro to "Stone Cold Hearted" I haven't been able to get enough of his playing. Listening to him turned me on to Eric Johnson, who I love also. Somehow along the way, I also discovered David Grissom, who I dig a lot. Right now I'm in the process of getting together my blues rock band, Locomotive, and we're recruiting our keyboard player right now, and we're gonna start playing gigs in at local coffee-shops soon. Anyways, that's my deal smile

For you tech/equipment guys, I play a Tobacco Epi Les Paul with a Seymour duncan PAF in the bridge, my backup guitar is the Epi Les Paul Ultra, and my backup to that is a cherry Epi SG. I know that's a lot of Epi's, and normally they don't feel good to me, but I came across a few gems that had the feel I was looking for. I run it all through a crybaby, boss eq(for boosts), boss chorus from the early 80's (my dads) right into my modded Peavey Valveking and ocassionally a first generation Peavey 5150, pushing through the Peavey Windsor Cab. I get a pretty good sound, and Peavey really impressed me with those amps. I've got my sound and im stickin with it tongue

Annnyyywayyys, thats my deal, hope I didn't bore you guys' ears off, and I look forward to posting on here and getting some good info and good times out of it.

Re: Hey guys

Nice post Ryan! Although I don't understand the gear stuff, many here will. There is a nice group of "young'ins" here. (There's a thread but I couldn't find it.) It's always wonderful when we get players of your generation. It gives the elders comfort to hear from the future. Have fun and keep us updated on your band. Welcome!     Cathy

Re: Hey guys

Re: Hey guys

Welcome to the forum Ryan. As Cathy said, it's always nice to welcome in one of Joe's younger fans. It's great that Joe has inspired you so much.
Good luck with the band, look forward to seeing a clip on the Tube maybe one day soon.

Re: Hey guys

Hello fellow Epi Les Paul player ! smile

A warm welcome to the forum and as Cathy said: you´ll have a lot of company for "gear-talk" here ... Joe also answers a lot of questions in the gear section, but you´ll probably know that already if you´ve been reading for a while.

So - don´t hesitate and become part of the Bonamassa-clan ... I´m looking forward to reading more of your posts!
