Re: New Gigliotti - Look who's home
Which pups did you get? I'm thinking about DiMarzios on a GS.

I have Fralin Blues in my GS. Make up your minds before carefully
about the pickups. They cannot get changed once the guitar is complete....
Right now i'm happy with the pu's.

Sure they can. It's just not an easy task. Fralin Blues specials are fantastic. I have them in several of my guitars and I bet they really ring in GS with a maple neck. I've been talking about the DiMarzios, as Patrick says they really sound great with the mahogany rosewood neck. Thanks.
Hmmm, I'm very curious how you would change the pu's...??
Not that I want it as i like the Fralins. But unless your name is MacGyver
I have no idea how you'd manage it... To put them out may work but to
put them back in seems impossible to me...
Let me know. You can email me privat too as this may
be boring for other peeps here.. stratovari(at)gmx.net

Its possible, but I read -somewhere- that it will be hard to change them alone. You should've a helper...
I wonder how they insert the pu's when they build a new Guitar?! Or did i miss something?
Not that anyone ever would like to change the pickups of his Gigliotti...
It's tricky, especially for the GS models. Patrick may void the warranty if it isn't done by an authorized dealer. Yes, it's a pain, but it is soooooooooo worth the hassle for these great guitars. Most folks would only want to change the pups if one went bad. He puts a lot of time into making sure that the pickups offered truly sound great with the guitar.
I believe that they fit the pickups before they glue the top veneer on.
When I got the preview pics of my GS with neck and body separated I saw
the pickups were already in.
Ben, indeed a boring subject, yaaaarn!
