Re: Kings Of Leon

I like them too and they're on the cover of Spin magazine this month .http://www.kingsofleon.com/pages/news/spin-magazine-digital-issue Evidently they're more popular abroad then here in the states .They can only fill theaters and clubs here while headlining festivals in the U.K. Definetly have their own sound

Re: Kings Of Leon

Sex On Fire is a KILLER song! One of the best I've heard thats come out this year by anyone imo.

Re: Kings Of Leon

Very interesting indeed. Three brothers raised by a bible thumping Pentacostal minister and their home school teacher/Mother and their cousin Matthew. It's like Hanson after a taste of sex, drugs, & R&R. I've got their first two CD's and enjoy them when I'm in a bit of a rowdy mood. I still don't see the comparison to Lynyrd Skynyrd that more than one review I've seen has compared them to. Even if you think you've never heard these guys you may have as their music has been used in a VW commercial, the soundtrack from Entourage, and several movie soundtracks. Ladies beware, don't listen too closely to some of their lyrics, they're not always politically correct towards the opposite sex. Rockin' band though.

Re: Kings Of Leon

sex on fire is a killin' tune. I'll have to check more out.

Re: Kings Of Leon

One of the guys in the office here just played me some of their stuff. The vocalist has a Bon Scott meets Steve Winwood meets (the Sensational) Alex Harvey thing going on. I plan to download some of their stuff tonight.

Love discovering new music!

Ok, Sex on fire is a killer tune!

I know this bloody song, I've heard it loads of times on Arrow and really liked it  but never known what it was (songs are normally not announced on Arrow).

I shall explore................good bump, Michael. cool

Damn MIchael, that Arizona is simply gorgeous!! I just love the tone of those guitars. big_smile

RIP Iron Man

Rock On and keep the Faith

Re: Kings Of Leon

I've liked them for awhile  and they're from near my home so I hope to see them this summer.  Good Alt/Rock mix!

Re: Kings Of Leon

I saw these guys a few months back and it was a great gig. They played nonstop for 2hrs solid. Well worth seeing.

Re: Kings Of Leon

Hey Michael, did you pick up on the Kings of Leon from your daughters, as I did from mine? I've known about them for a while too but never thought to mention them here - far too young and mainstream! hmm

Who were the Kings of Leon? A quick history lesson: Until around the 11th century Leon was as an area of what is now Spain and Portugal was a county within it. Then in 1095 the King of Leon granted Portugal to his daughter and her husband. Gradually Portugal became independent and by 1140, Alfonso Henriques became the first king of Portugal.

Understandably, the fans of the Kings of Leon in Portugal are very keen for them to play there as, without the Kings of Leon there would be no Portugal. smile

There, you even get culture here. roll
