Topic: EVM12-L's

Hey everyone...need a little help here...

I am looking at a couple of Fender combo amps that I am thinking of buying.  I have read here about how good EVM12-L's are so I started to do a little research.  I have a question that I just have no clue on being how I am just getting into this gear thingy....

I understand when you replace a speaker you have to match the Ohms.  The EV's  that I have been able to find are 200 watts.  So here is my dumb (yet a learning exercise) question. 

Can you put those amps in say a 50 watt combo amp and they work fine...no issues?  I ask this with full understanding of the matching the ohms.

Ohms and watts are 2 different things. Yes you can put the 200 watt speaker in the 50 watt combo and have no problems if you match the ohms. The EV 12L are all 200 watt but they come in 8 or 16 ohms. I hope this helps......

A little more clarity when choosing speakers sounds like it could be an entirely new thread. EV vs. Celestions vs. Jensen vs. Weber, boogie, peavey, etc.

It's so hard to buy a speaker based off a description.
