Any advice? Anything I should be trying?

Re: Acoustic strings

Not the best to tell you this but I've tried the C.F. Martin Strings and they are ok.  My friend is trying me out on some John Perce strings this week when ever I get the time to restring my new Yamaha acoustic.  My advice is stay clear of the Elixer strings, I think that nano web b.s. muffs the brightness out of the strings and makes for a dull sounding acoustic.

Re: Acoustic strings

I use the Godin Phos Bronz Acoustic Strings. They are hard to find in most guitar shops, so I buy them online at Strings and Beyond.com.

I own a Seagull Performer CW Gt Qi This guitar sound great and stays in tune. The Gudin string came on the guitar originally because Robert Godin produced the Seagull Guitars.

Take care.

Re: Acoustic strings

Elixir strings on acoustic - but I avoid their electric strings like the plague.

Re: Acoustic strings

Personally, I like Dean Markley Alchemy strings (Gold Bronze) - absolutely amazing sound.  They sound so much clearer and punchier than any other string I've ever tried for acoustic.  I used to be 100% on Elixir's but I decided to try these one day and I'll never go back...

Re: Acoustic strings

I always like Elixirs. They don't sound the best - but they last the longest. I have a new set of D'Addario EXP which I think are another wrapped string I'm going to try. My fingers are sweaty and I go through strings a lot.
