Topic: The Boss at the Superbowl

What did everybody think of the half time show?  I liked the windmill move and the telecaster over the shoulder 3 times trick the best.  Just not too big of springstein fan I guess.

Re: The Boss at the Superbowl

I thought it was real good to see all the talent in the band. The boss, Clarence, Lil Steven, Max Winburg, Paul Shaffer and I like the song selection! What I like most about the band is they usualy play long sets.

Re: The Boss at the Superbowl

The Boss to the NFL, OK I'll play halftime, but you gotta let me play the title track from my new CD. I wonder who will thrill us at halftime next year?

I am a Bruce fan from back in the day. I don't have any new stuff, but I think he and the E-Street Band gave a fine show. His concerts were a giant party and supply me with tons of great memories. Compared to many of the past half time shows, this was more my style.  Cathy

You Can Do Anything You Want To Do

Re: The Boss at the Superbowl

Does anyone think it was pre recorded?  A few of my friends told me that his vocals didn't match up with the music or the lips didn't match up with the music.  I could see it because of the past in all the NFL wants to keep tight rains on the half time show, and also it would be a sound mans nightmare!  They have 10 mins to set up a complete stage do a sound check and get everything ready before the boss comes up on stage.  I just don't think its possible.

Re: The Boss at the Superbowl

I don't think it could have been pre-recorded because the old fart was so winded after running around he could hardly sing a couple of the tunes.  All I could think was "Dude, you're way to old to run around like that and be able to perform!"

What got me was the interview before where he claimed he was playing the Super Bowl now because he felt his band was finally playing at their peak.  It was obviously timed with the release of his new album, and kind of a last gasp for a band whose heyday was a long time ago !

I've never been a Bruce fan, but I will admit to his great talent and what he has contributed, just not my style.  I always thought his music was like country music with a horn section.

The halftime show needs to be much more hip and current in my opinion.  Prince last year and now Bruce.  Quit gearing the halftime show to the AARP crowd !  Hey, at least the performers kept their boobs covered this time !

The whole world saw that as it was choreographed except for over shooting the landing. The guy that posted that tried to say Bruce slid into him and his cell phone he was using LOL.

So what?

How much of any rock show do you think is spontanious?

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

UM
I would assume you rehearse and learn a set list.  I'm don't think that's what you meant though.  It was not live.

maybe not (spontaneous, I mean)

Re: The Boss at the Superbowl

The standard excuse given by the people that produce this stuff is, too many things can go wrong. Why bother, I'm outta my seat at halftime any how. There's only 80-100 thousand people in the stadiums, but the networks cater to the millions watching at home.

So what? So, someone asked earlier if it was pre-recorded.
I don't understand what spontaneous has to do with pre-recorded anyway.
