Topic: Hi everyone -

Hello from the sunny tropics!
I’ve been a converted JB fan for only a few months but it’s been a great few months. I discovered Joe on Amie Street and after listening to Shepherd’s Bush, I was hooked. I went back the next day and got the whole lot and I’ve haven’t stopped listening since. What’s amazing is how Joe’s love for blues is so contagious that listening to his top 25 blues artists opened up a whole new world for me. Joe is truly exceptional and his fans and this forum are so unique. On the personal side - I teach for a living, dabbled in acoustic guitar for many years and can’t survive in temperatures less than 20degC. The down side though is there are no JB shows this far south! I can’t wait for the new album and can someone please put it on Amie Street?

Re: Hi everyone -

Hey welcome!!!! This is a great place filled with many wonderful people. If you don't mind me asking... where exactly are talking about when you say "the tropics"??? Have a good time.

Re: Hi everyone -

Thanks for the welcome - I'm really glad to be able to share in the excitement of Joe's next best year ever! My part of the tropics is in Trinidad and Tobago - the original home of steelpan, calypso, carnival and a jazz festival that would be a great place to start a tropical tour!

Re: Hi everyone -

Hi Malki and welcome to Joe's forum. Wow I don't think we have anyone from Trinidad & Tobago here before. I certainly envy the warmth you're enjoying...It's b***** freezing here in the UK at the moment with even colder weather forecast.
Luckily the warmth in the forum keeps us going smile
I feel sorry for you that you don't get the chance to see Joe live, maybe one day, you never know. Shepherd's Bush was a great gig, I was lucky enough to be there.

Have fun here...Tripsy smile

Re: Hi everyone -

Welcome. You're among friends smile

Re: Hi everyone -

20 Degree C? As I look out of my office window at the denuded forest while pulling a second fleece on I can only dream about the temperature you must be enjoying today. -4 here today in Lower Saxony, but I guess others on this forum can beat that real easy.

Welcome to the forum Malki! Your in teaching did you say? You should read up on some of Andre's efforts with "Blues in the Schools". I reckon Joe could find a new BITS opportunity pretty appealing, especially as your in Trinidad and Tobago!

Re: Hi everyone -

Welcome aboard the Bonatrain Express forum...... a week ago here in N.Illinois it was a blustery -48F degrees windchill. Our pals in the Land of Cheese can relate. Although we all say we get used to it... it still sucks ! Come on springtime......

Re: Hi everyone -

Gee, it's been a while since I did this.......

Hey Malki,

Glad you could make it to Joe's party that we all call his forum! Lots of great people hang around here. Gosh, just the word "tropical" sounds warm to someone from Wisconsin. Oh how I'd love to stroll down a beach in my swimming trunks right now.

Glad you're with us! smile

Roy

P.S. Yes Summers, it still sucks!! lol

Joe is the Best!

Re: Hi everyone -

A very warm welcome from cold Germany Malki.
I offer you a deal: you can stay at my house and go see Joe when he´s in Germany and I stay at your house in Trinidad and Tobago during this time. big_smile Just kidding ......

Re: Hi everyone -

Thanks for all the really warm welcomes from everyone - this forum is as warm as the tropics! Sorry about the silence for a while as I lost my connection with the outside world for a while... Thanks for the offer Eva but even with a live Joe concert beckoning I wouldn't survive with the weather reports I'm seeing! Everywhere I look in the news somewhere up north is cloaked in white and people are skiing in the streets.  -48F? Just not human... not this human anyway!

Hey, it almost feels like spring here in Germany, we´ve got up to 8 degrees already (46 F) - whilst the poor English folks have ice and snow at the moment (which is rather unusal.......). wink
But I can´t be a "real" German anyway, I´m freezing as soon as the temperature drops under 68  F ... lol
