Topic: Denmark Street find..

Hello Everybody,
Enjoying the new forum layout.. Came as a surprise to me as well.. Went shopping today on London's famous Denmark street. I found a Musicman HD-150 reverb for 400 quid... Sorry my english girlfriend has gotten me into english slang..  Its fantastic and supremely undervalued.. Look for these amps ... Mines a head.. but the combos rock too..

Re: Denmark Street find..

Yeah Joe, the new forum surprised me too. I thought there was a problem with my PC and logged off again smile. Anyway, cool to know you're in town. I used to stand with my nose pressed to the windows of the stores in Denmark Street drooling over the guitars when I was a kid. So, you going to gig the Musicman or was it one of those GAS moments?  wink

Re: Denmark Street find..

Slowhand rocked out on these back in the late 70's.  You can see him playing it on the Last Waltz.  He ran around with the combo regularly I do believe.  Cherio and all that rubish.

Re: Denmark Street find..

Wow, nice find!  That amp brings back memories.  I had a Music Man RP112 combo (with reverb and built-in phaser) back when I was a kid...saved up what seemed like forever to buy it.  I remember how pumped up I was when I brought it home.  Of course it was way too much amp for a teenagers bedroom but what did I know at the time!  Regrettably, I sold it years later for either food or rent most likely.  More recently, I saw Johnny Winter playing through a Music Man and he sounded great...and LOUD!  Good luck and enjoy the new amp.

I'll get it tomorrow Eva, I know I'm slacking. We are in the middle of a small blizzard here in London.

Thanks Eva for outing Roadshow101. He has been staying under my radar for awhile. I will keep a better eye on him from now on. Don't want any information leaking on the forum. big_smile

W & J What you doing venturing out in that Blizzard  big_smile , Hope you grabbed a hot coffee inside , That's a Nice pic of snowy Albert Hall , and the other photo was that across the road in Hyde Park ( very artistic ) , That Denmark Street is a Guitarists Dream , There's just so much there New & Old , It's like One Giant Guitar Shop with 20 to 30 interconnecting rooms , to mere amateurs like me it's just wall to wall to wall guitars , But to the Afficianados it is The Ultimate Guitar Candy Store , And if you're in London (You Just Gotta Visit) ...

Re: Denmark Street find..

Joe did you really need to take New York weather with you to London????

Hey Joe. Question: If you could only pick two amps to play for the remainder of your career, what two would you choose and why?
