Topic: Best way to record video of my amps

Hey guys - I wanna post a video of my amps, but recording on a digital cam isn't working out as it isn't doing the tone quality justice.  It sounds is clear and the video comes out great, but the tone is lacking.  I'd really like to post a video, but I want the amps to sound right.  Any advice, without going out of control with crazy recording interface things and what not?  I also have a really nice EV mic, but I need a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter to plug it in to my recorder.  Will that improve the tone quality or will that be a waste of time?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi
Yeah Ben its depressing when you record with a cam and listen back to it
as all the life tone and texture and bass seem to disapear I guess thats why very few
have posted demos of their rigs. I would get the adaptor and try the EV a proper mics
got to be far better than the one on your cam I didint even have that option.
and remember its just to give us guys an idea of what your rig sounds like
look forward to hearing it good luck

Hey Soft - thanks for the reply.  Thats totally what I'm hearing.  If it doesn't work out, I'll just post a video anyway for an idea like you said.

Thanks again,
Ben

You can record using protools or garage band, and overdub the video recorded audio with the audio from protools or garageband.

I'd love to, but I'm not set up for that lol.  One thing I never got into was the whole recording aspect.  IDK much about it, but I would love to get something small to do simple recording things.
