How about some before and after pics?  Heck some during pics would be pretty funny I would imagine.  What are can lights?  Recessed?  Is that your music room?   I hope I'm not the reason for your need for an external drive.  Whenever you're ready say the word and a fresh batch of mp3 dvds will be heading west.
