Topic: Dedicated follower of Bonamassa!

Hello - you all seem so goddam friendly I thought I'd sign up!

My boss first introduced Joe's work to me some 2-3 years back and whilst I appreciated his craft, I mistakenly put him in the A N Other box of blues guitarists.

Then I happened upon "Live from Shepherds Bush" in itunes and WOWSER!!!! I was listening to Joe with a new pair of ears. What a genius this man is. And what a live performer!

I immediately checked Joe's website and saw that he was appearing in Crewe a few weeks later - what a stroke of luck! Booked straight away amidst much nervous excitement.

Joe was ill on the night with the flu but still turned out and blew me away with his performance and I vowed to see him live as often as I could.

I have since watched Joe live in Liverpool and Manchester (3 gigs in a year!! Thanks for loving England so much Joe!)and I have tickets for the Wolverhampton gig in April.

I'd love to see him at the RAH as the calibre of his performances deserves such a stage, but his gig there was announced a couple of days after I'd bought tickets to see Clapton there!!! Oh well, I'm sure EC will be a reasonable substitute.

But he won't take Joe's place in my mind. I'm hooked on Joe's music and his live shows and now I'm chuffed to be a newbie dedicated follower of Bonamassa!!

Hi redman, welcome to the forum! I, too, "laid Joe aside" for a while but then I really was blown away after watching some youtube videos. You were right...there are all very nice people here. Post often smile

You'll find a lot of like-minded people here. Unfortunately, it seems a lot of people dismiss Joe until they see him live. While I think his studio work is great, his live shows are phenomenal and will turn anyone into a fan. I'll get to see him again in a couple of months, and I can't wait!

Hi Redman and welcome to this super friendly forum! The Shepherd's Bush show was fantastic, there is nothing like a live Joe show.
I like Eric Clapton but I'd swap an EC ticket for a JB ticket any day of the week especially for one at the RAH!
At least there will be a dvd for you to enjoy.

Welcome Redman. Love your attitude!..lol...What kind of job do you have? Sounds like your boss is a cool guy! I was hooked instantly, but it was via a DVD. If you don't own the entire Joe catalog, you're missing some great moments in the development of Joe's style. Stick around and have some fun.   Cathy

Hi Cathy - Once I discovered Joe's work I couldn't get enough and now have the full catalogue and now eagerly await the release of "John Henry".

And by the way - my boss is a great guy, even if he is far too cool for school!!
