Topic: Greetings from Italy!!

Hello there,
a month ago I was searching in the net for Warren Haynes' own version of "If heartaches were nickels" when I stumbled into Joe Bonamassa's in New Day Yesterday....WOW...I bought most of his cds by now , but my favorite is "Live from nowhere..."
It's not many years I'm into blues, I always preferred rock or hard rock , so it's great to listen to those Beatles,Frampton,Led Zeppelin and so on... teases..

God bless you Joe for your great music,
hope to have the chance to see you live in Italy...Bonamassa sounds Italian and then before "I don't believe" the tempo(time?) seems to be given in Italian( due..treee..quattro):)

Bye

Salvatore

Re: Greetings from Italy!!

Hello Salvatore from the beautiful country down south,

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the world of blues! I´m sure you´ll find a lot of cool new bands here besides all the news about Joe ... we all have a rather good taste in music here. lol

I think Joe´s ancestors (or the name Bonamassa) do indeed come from Italy, but I´m not really sure ... think he mentioned something like this.

Anyway, have a great time here - looking forward to read more of your posts!

Re: Greetings from Italy!!

A warm welcome Salvatore!

You made a great choice to visit this site, it's filled with music, great people and a lot of Joe Bonamassa of course. He is on the site very often!!

Bonamassa is an Italian name, if I'm right and I am I think, Joe has  Italian blood in his vains.
Every European tour he is in Italy too, so there your chance to see him!

Enjoy it here and keep posting!

Re: Greetings from Italy!!

Welcome Salvatore!! Joe does claim his Italian roots. "If Heartaches Were Nickels" was my first song too...and what caused my immediate addiction. He owns that song IMHO. You will be happy here. Cathy

Re: Greetings from Italy!!

Thank you  everybody for your kind and warm welcome...
Can't wait for the upcoming album, Joe seems to be a hard worker doesn't he?
I read he played in a band called bloodline before going solo, has anybody ever listened to that band?
But maybe I should look for  a discussion with this topic or create a new one..
Anyway thanks again, I'm having a lot of fun exploring the site and this forum!!

Hi Salvatore,

welcom aboard at the bonabuddies!
Yes he played at bloodline first. Have a look at youtube for bloodline.
There is a 3 part report of it. Very interesting. Enjoy this place.

Re: Greetings from Italy!!

Welcome to Joe's forum Salvatore. It's great the way that Joe's music hits you and instantly hooks you. With me it was Hearing You Upset Me Baby on the radio which started my addiction!

Re: Greetings from Italy!!

Welcome Salvatore,

If you already love Joe and his music and have all his c.d's just wait until you see him 'live' you will then be well and truly converted.  None of his c.d's do his live act justice - ask anyone on this forum.

Rock on and keep the faith!!

That's what I keep on reading in Italian blues forums, anyone who saw him seems to have gone crazy..I'm sure there will be a chance for me too smile

In the meantime I'm consuming "A new day yesterday Live", "live from nowhere in particuliar" and "live at the ferry" which I only found in the net but I SWEAR I'll BUY the real thing as soon as I see it somewhere here or on Ebay,Amazon etc.  , just lke I did with all the other cds..BUt maybe it's a bootleg? Can't find it for now...

Thanks again for your welcome too Sue,Tripsy,Stratovary,Eva ,Cathy and Andre...
As warm as blues is..
