I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Re: Delaney Bramlet Rip

I actually first read about Delaney's passing on the Clapton forum.  I mentioned his contribution to Let it Rain in the Clapton thread and went on to learn more about his life and music on wiki and his myspace and youtube. I read Delaney requested his guitar and amp from home on Christmas Eve and played about a half an hour that day. I like the title track from Bramley's latest CD.

Delaney taught George Harrison how to play slide guitar which led into a jam session that resulted in My Sweet Lord. Very talented guy, touched a lot of peoples' lives...

I picked up this album in a record store for a $1.00 about a year ago, especially always loved the album cover. The store couldn't hold its own and recently went out of business, I picked up the coolest things there and the owner always gave me posters for my kids after CD releases etc.

Yes, I saw this too Joe. A sad loss. I have no words right now.

When I think of Delaney Bramlett, I think of Brother Cales and Tommy Talton as well.

Re: Delaney Bramlet Rip

I still have the "Delaney & Bonnie & Friends feat. Eric Clapton" vinyl that I bought back in the 70's.  I loved that album. I also have it in  my ipod and been listening to it today.  Very sad news indeed.

Re: Delaney Bramlet Rip

Delaney Bramlett a pioneer in my generation of music, his daughter Bekka is the proof in the pudding, I am sorry for their loss, and sad that I never got to share the music with him.

Re: Delaney Bramlet Rip

sad

My only excuse for having missed this is that I've hardly been on the forum since the 27th. Sad news indeed. What more fitting tribute to enjoy than their classic 'Comin' home'

He was a big, big influence on a great many artists. Few gave him credit.

Not to turn this into something it shouldn't be, but...EC owes much of his career to Delaney. Eric fashioned himself after the man. You still see it. Still hear it.

OK I'll shut up.
