During a year which has seen the city change and evolve and welcome Joe for the first time with a capacity crowd. This weekend sees the finale of the year's celebrations with a huge party. For those that made the trip to Liverpool to see Joe, why not try to make it for this weekend's party. OK Eva, you are excused as it's a long way for you. Sorry if you think I'm banging on about it, but I'm mighty proud of my city!

Bang on about Liverpool as much as you like Geoff!! It is a truly great city with so much character. The gig at the Academy was fantastic. Liverpool rocks!! smile

Ok here's a few pictures. Some video on Youtube will follow soon - just as soon as I figure out how to download stuff. The "event" was held down at the Pier Head, in front of the "Three Graces" - The Royal Liver Buildings, Cunard Buildings and The Port of Liverpool Buildings. They have spent a few millions routing the Leeds to Liverpool Canal in front of these magnificent buildings to link it with the Albert Dock. The canal is now a new public space and very nice it looks too. The firework display was huge and done to music, which I'll post tomorrow. Music is a huge influence to the people of Liverpool and it was no surprise it featured heavily. Apologies for my video technique it was filmed on a tiny Canon Ixus 75 compact camera, so it's a bit jerky in places.

Thanks Geoff for sharing these clips - especially the fireworks.  They must have been unreal live!  I especially liked the "Lucy in the Sky" ones.  I so love a good fireworks show - and music makes it so much more interesting.
