Thanks for posting this song, Keith.  I could totally see Joe doing this one.  I have to confess I know nothing about Rory Gallagher but am very interested in learning and hearing more after hearing this. smile

Wilson Pickett's Mustang Sally.  A little soul with the blues is always a great combination.  It's also my wife's favorite song.

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

How about a Gary Moore rock song, like Murder In The Skies, it would be interesting to think what Gary would say about that!

I'm thinkin' Mott The Hoople - All the Young Dudes, Sweet Jane (Lou Reed) or Rock And Roll Queen.  MTH was a kickin' band in the Seventies.  Saw them open for Johnny Winter & Rick Derringer in '71 and they clearly outplayed JW that night.

You can't have ever played in a bar band - this song is practically illegal in cover band circles after years of drunken women demanding that it be played ;-)

I would like to hear Joe cover My Humps by the Black Eye Peas..."we're gonna skate to one song, and one song only!"

Or slightly more serious... 'Nantucket Sleighride' by Mountain

Jon - How the heck do you know my wife?  I almost fell outta my chair, laughing, when I read your response.  Of course you're dead right in your post, but I couldn't resist including it in this thread.  I definitely like the Mountain mention.  Saw them a few times in their heyday and Leslie West never disappointed.

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

How about Frampton' Do you feel like we do?
I think it would be fantastic, just listening to the tease on "Just got paid "in Live from nowere.." WOW....talking about zz top, Jesus just left Chicago would be a great choice too...too many to name anyway...

How about a bluesy version of KISS "Rocket Ride"?..I'm sure it'd be brilliant, really!! Gosh, now you know what "Ace  freak" stands for LOL ....:D

Ace - It's interesting your mention of Frampton's "Do You Feel Like We Do", because Joe Plays the closing riff from that song at the end of "Takin' the Hit" from his Rockpalast DVD.  I always thought Peter Frampton should have been given more props for his playing.  A lot of people thought Steve Marriott was the heart and soul of the great Humble Pie, but my money was always on Mr. Frampton.

Re: Covers you would love to hear Joe do

Stranger In This Town- Richie Sambora. Its pretty bluesy as is, but it would be fantastic with that Bonnatwist.

I reckon Joe would do a mean version of Deep Purple's Lazy.

With the discussions on Deep Purple Mark III, it did make me think what it would be like hearing Joe play the riff to Deep Purple's Burn! smile

Bell Bottom Blues is my favorite Derek and the Dominos Tune If he could pull that one off I'd die and go to heaven.

"When the Levee breaks" - Led Zep ... that would be cool.

As for Derek and the Dominos: Anyday.
