Topic: Warmoth telecaster!!!

Hi everybody... I'm going to buy warmoth pieces for building by myself my own telecaster!!! I choose this...
-Alder body rear routed...antigua colour and antigua pickguard
-AAA Birdeye maple neck with maple fingerboard...this is a modern/vintage neck (# 10" - 16" Compound radius fretboard
# 25 1/2" Scale 22frets)
- vintage bridge but I don't know if 3 or 6 saddle
- about frets... i don't know if put small vintage fender size frets to have a total vintage guitar or simply medium jumbo which i have on all my guitars
- Pickups Lindy Fralin Blues Special
- Gotoh vintage style tuners

What do you think?? Like this the guitar costs almost 1000 dollars!!! Another question...if I send pieces to my uncle's house in usa and he send me them i pay iva tax or only dougane?? Tell me everything you think about this guitar... Thank you so much for the help!!!!

Re: Warmoth telecaster!!!

The Warmoth Parts will let you build a KILLIN' Guitar! Rosewood or Maple Fingerboard? That's a choice. Maple seems more "snappy" and bright, to me. Where Rosewood seems fatter and warmer. So, that's definately a factor in the Tones. And Fret size? Big decision there. I would suggest playing some "Brand Name" guitars at the local shops. When you find a Neck that really is sweet, find out all the details, Contour, Fret Size, Width at the Nut, etc. As far as the Compound Radius? Yeah, that's very sweet! However, if you dig "Vintage", you'd want a pretty curved Fretboard. BIG difference. So, be sure to try some guitars with flatter Fretboard Radius.

THe re-sale isn't as high on "Parts Guitars". But, you probably won't ever want to sell it, if you choose wisely. Of course, you can easily swap out new parts, as your tastes change.

     One question, though:

    Antigua? Really?

Re: Warmoth telecaster!!!

Hi Budda,
I explain you the situation!!! I'm a 17 that was leaving the school this year for going in a luthery to learn something about building guitars!!! Now.. I'm going to school but i want my own guitar and I chose Warmoth!!! Yes...I'm going to try some neck to see how it fits on me... on both my strats i have medium jumbo frets but i want to use the telecaster for playing with slide too!!! I don't know how are jumbo frets... For the colour yeaaaaaah I love Antigua...it's the most expensive there but i love it!!! Only painting with pickguard in the same colour is something like 320$!!!
