Re: Favourite song of ALL TIME!
Hmm, a trciky one, but my instinct tells me something by Peter Green (whom I much prefer to Clapton), so I'll say Oh Well (part one).

As Michael and others pointed out one is not enough. I have 3 others that never grow old:
Pride (In the name of love), crank it loud every March 17th & MLK Day
Reelin' In The Years, love the lead fill by Elliot Randall
Ramblin' Man, greatest lead guitar riffs ever
Must be something like Voodoo chile' (slight return) by Jimi Hendrix.

Roll Gypsy Roll ~ Lynyrd Skynyrd
Souvenirs ~ John Prine
Lawyers Guns and Money ~ Warren Zevon
Now that's just weird -- those are some of my favorites too, and those artists are not at all similar in style.
I'd have to narrow mine down to three songs too:
Icy Blue Heart - Emmylou Harris w/ Bonnie Raitt
Statesboro Blues - ABB Live at the Fillmore
And it Stoned Me - Van Morrison
And of those three, I guess I'd have to give the edge to Van Morrison.
And I just starting listening to Joe, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the live version of India/Mountain Time will make a similar list someday after I've worn it out and come back to it multiple times.
Forgot to add
Turn the Page ~ Bob Seger
Sheesh,,,, I could add a few hundred.............

Good to have another friend of Van in the forum.

Good. One day it came on the radio in the car. MsTia gave me this wierd look and asked if he wrote that tune for me.
Yeah, I said... me and every other battle scarred, road weary player and roadie alive.
ain't sentimental though
For the moment and moments are fleeting, I think I'll go with Maggot Brain by Funkadelic. What a freakin' guitar solo! Maybe that's the song Joe ought to cover.
Into The Mystic Van Morrison

OHHHH good, one, I think probably 2 or 3 on my list.
But I would have to say that my favorite as of the writing of this is ... "Baby I love you" by Bonnie Raitt and BB King. I could change my mind any minute though.
As for JB songs - I couldn't possibly pick a fav. Okay, so I do occasionally. But overall, they are all my favorites and belong to a category of their own!
My favorite song also changes with my mood. Mountaintime of course, (hence the name) is my all time favorite and lately Keb Mo's Keep it Simple Cd has been burning up every cd player I have, but i was listening to an old cassette tape, (yes i still have many ha!) and forgot how much I love the song Madman Across the Water from Elton John's Tumbleweed Connection. The lyrics, guitar just everything is so great!
There's a big difference between what my "favorite" is and what song has been played on my iTunes most. I love that playcounter!
