I would love to see an ES-335 cherry red... I know I know... too much like Clapton, but I would still love it.

.......My two cents

Parker Fly....

Re: What Axe Should Joe Play Next?

A '54 Les Paul Goldtop (or Historic R4)...I would like to witness Joe play a P90 Gibson at a live show.  I love the 'Bucker tone but also love the wonderful neck pickup tone of a P90!

Re: What Axe Should Joe Play Next?

Would love to see Joe break out the gold strat when he plays the RAH.

Re: What Axe Should Joe Play Next?

I'd like to see the return of the 335s, hell maybe even a Tele.

Mine.

Ha ha. He'd have a job on (see pic left).
Mind you, Joe's so good he could probably play one of mine wink

Seriously, he does just fine with the current choices.
The Les Pauls and the Gigliotti do it for me.

Yeah thinking about that one , It's like an entrance that Goldie's been waiting for , From One Hall of Fame To Another , Worth coming out of Retirement For One More Time , A Fitting Tribute Finale and then could be laid to rest ( for awhile )

Could you imagine Joe centre stage RAH under spotlight with Goldie and that SOUND ( if there's ever only one strat That's It )
What song   "Pain and Sorrow" , "Blues Deluxe" or even "Junction 61/Reconsider Baby" That would be one of The DVD Highlights as that guitar has helped joe in some ways of getting and travelled along his road to May 4th

Just prompted a thought Spider

Re: What Axe Should Joe Play Next?

I think he made a good choice swapping for gibsons, that strat can stay were it is!

Re: What Axe Should Joe Play Next?

Here we go, Joe has a sitar....I have to believe JB has played with it just a bit....check out the great Ravi Shankar....if you ever see his performance at The Montery Pop Festival, it will drop your jaw...what do you say Joe??...maybe a taste at THE RAH smile

Re: What Axe Should Joe Play Next?

Similar to how their waistline creeps up over time as men age, guitarists will all tend toward the Telecaster over time.  It's almost inevitable.  Those over 40 who don't play them are fooling themselves.

Failing that, a G&L ASAT is an acceptable substitute for those who wish to fight nature.

:-)

A Les Paul is so easy to play, it will make you a better player.  A Telecaster will make you better because it's so difficult. wink

Next time he's in town, I wouldn't mind him playing my '73 Les Paul custom w/jimmy page push/pull pots.

Re: What Axe Should Joe Play Next?

I'd like to see him on some big semi-hollow body showing off the jazz chops I know he has...not now by any means, but in the distant future smile

I agree completely with your choice. I have a cherry red ES 335 and I love it. Maybe he would compared to EC, but..oh well.
