Topic: Freddie Hubbard RIP

Yesterday, jazz trumpet legend Freddie Hubbard passed away at age 70 from complications from a November heart attack.  He was just getting back into playing after a 1992 lip injury hindered his career.  Here is a good video to check out Freddie.

Re: Freddie Hubbard RIP

Sorry to hear about Freddie's passing.  He was one of Jazz's great trumpeters.

Re: Freddie Hubbard RIP

A dear old friend that I originally met in elementary school turned me on to Freddie Hubbard and Gato Barbieri during my jazz phase. I don't know if I would have otherwise ever heard of Freddie, I don't recall him being on the radio like Chuck Mangione or Grover Washington was.  I have lots of Freddie's albums on vinyl, but only one greatest hits on CD.  Freddie was great!
