Topic: Favorite CD purchased in 2008.

Just curious: Whats everyone's favorite CD's purchased this year other than JB's LFNIP?
It doesn't have to have been released this year just bought this year.
It doesn't have to be a new band either could be someone you just got turned on to. Doesn't have to be blues or rock either.

My list would be in no paticular order.
Buddy Guy, Skin Deep
Gary Moore, Bad For you baby
Ryan McGarvey, Forward in Reverse
JJ Grey & Mofro, Orange Blossoms
The Bottle Rockets,  24 hours a day, Came out in 1997 never heard of them before this year.
Lefty Williams, Snake oil

These are just a few of my fav's bought this year. Bought a couple that I wish I hadn't too. But thats another post.

Re: Favorite CD purchased in 2008.

My list is based on what I listened to the most.

2008 major label release:  LIVE from nowhere in particular - Joe Bonamassa.  I'm not just kissing Joe's butt here.  Joe is at his absolute best when he is live.  I had high expectations for this CD and Joe did not disappoint.  It's likely going to be in my top 10 favorite live albums of all time.

2008 indie release:  I Feel Like Sh*t - Boogaloosa Prayer.  This is a band is from my home town area of Toledo, OH.  Comprised of former members of Henry And June, and the Soledad Brothers.  Lots of great slide work on this one.  The CD includes my all-time favorite version of St. James Infirmary Blues.

back catalog release (1989):  Tin Machine - Tin Machine.  Bowie and Reeves Gabrels were a perfect combination.  I can't figure out why I waited so long to actually buy this CD.

2008 music DVD: Live From The Crystal Ballroom - The Black Keys.  This DVD is simply STUNNING.  It is easily in my top 5 of all time (and I own over 300 music DVDs).  I have a fairly detailed review at amazon.com.  You should go read it, and then buy it.

Gibson 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue, Gibson LP Standard Faded CSB, Gibson Gary Moore LP Standard, Epi Joe Bonamassa GT LP, Epi Zakk Wylde LP, Dean Michael Schenker Flying V, Jackson Randy Rhoads V, ESP/LTD George Lynch Kamikaze, EVH Striped Series R/B/W, Fender/Squire John 5 Telecaster, Fender Joe Strummer Relic Telecaster
