The word "loop" is one of the most ambiguous words you could use here...
Keep me in the Loop

Loop Machine...
  Its the last meaning I want to ask about today. I think that there are a few good Loop Machines out there and that they are excellent tools to learn with. A song is very incomplete without a Rhythm section and a solo... You can play portions of many songs, but never reproduce the complete thought (Solo on top) without a machine that records your phrases and allows you to compose a more complete song...
  What LOOP MACHINES do you use? What are the good ones? I think one that is easy to use and consistent would be a good tool to learn with, and help to develop a sound of my own. It's not a right now need... but down the road I know that something I  want to try.

A fx loop pedal is very easy to make.
