Simon McBride

Found this guy within the pages of Guitarist magazine, which coincidentially is where I first discovered Joe.

Very Blues/Rock. He is on iTunes and has a CD out. If you like Joe, SRV, Robin Tower and the like, check him out. There is some video on YouTube also.

Good Guitarist IMHO and the vocals aren't bad either.

Nothin' but the Blues

Re: Simon McBride

That's one CD I believe I'm due to open on Xmas day. I will report back, but I agree, he's really good. At the age of 15 he toured with NWOBHM band Sweet Savage which was Vivian Campbell's (Dio, Def Leppard) old band.

Re: Simon McBride

Michael Lynch introduced me to Simon at the Music Live Exhibition in Birmigham. Simeon had supported Joe in Belfast and Dublin recently and I'd not heard him play before. I bought an album off Simon whilst we were chatting and I have to say, it's hardly ever off my car stereo. Excellent playing and singing. well balanced album too! Def worth a listen!

I just bought his album Rich Man Falling and it is outstanding. Here is a video link:

Wow, a blues-rocker with a PRS. Outstanding.

Re: Simon McBride

Simon McBride is in the top echelon of new Blues artists that also include Aynsley Lister, Back Door Slam, Ryan McGarvey, and Greg Koch.  I highly recommenf Rich Man Falling Down!  Simon's got the 3 ingredients for success - great musical ability, good songwriting (there's no covers on the album), and a great singer.

Re: Simon McBride

I was mistaken mentioning there's no covers on Rich Man Falling.  There are two.  I had him confused with Ryan McGarvey's album of no covers.

Yes, they are both fine albums, two of the best of the last two years. I'd urge everyone hear to make the effort to obtain both. Incidently the two covers on Simon's album are Power of Soul by Jimi Hendrix and Free's Be My Friend, which he sings nearly as well as Paul Rodgers.
