Perhape the most controversial song in history...To this day I dont believe Don Maclean has told HIS story of it's meaning...but this you tube clip is fascinating in my opinion....everyone who's my age... 50.... knows every word to the song...and it meens something personal to alot of people, reminds me of my childhood more than any song ever!

Re: Favorite relaxing songs?

The ultimate relaxing song must be "Albert Ross" by Fleetwood Mac

I defy someone to still be uptight after listening to this:

Re: Favorite relaxing songs?

There are some good ones listed.

I want to give a shout out to a cat, Willy Porter.

One of his early albums-Falling Forward-is a great unwinding album, and seems to lead to some good times later in the evening.

Check him out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEVSdVVm … re=related

Also a very accomplished acoustic player.

Pretty much anything by Indigenous...especially off their new album or Circle.

FDOL, if you were to toss around the label "super group" in the jazz ranks Four Play would foot the bill. I have two of their releases and dig their cover of Sexual Healing.

Some other tunes that chill me out, I Left My Heart In San Francisco, (they play this after every Giants victory as the fans file out of the ball park), Cast Your Fate To The Wind by Vince Guaraldi, and Aaron Copland's Fanfare For The Common Man. The entire CSN debut album does the trick too.

Re: Favorite relaxing songs?

Spent some crazy days in a hospital last Spring and frequently listened to the song, A Minor Incident, by Badly Drawn Boy.
