Topic: What's on your pedalboard?

hey all, don't know if there's already i thread for this. if there is, feel free to flog me lol

my pedalboard evolved from using lots of pedals around 5-6 years ago to a less is more approach in the past 3-4 years.

i use a gator pedal tote, which is a great little bit of kit for the money and just right for 4-5 pedals.

first in line is a vox tonebender clone that my good friend built for me. it sounds just like my much missed origianl tonebender, but its more pedalboard friendly. cleans up nicely too.

a standard crybaby comes next. i have it after the tonebender, as the tonebender works better when it's the first thing the guitar hits. i've wanted to upgrade the crybaby, but at the time i got confused and plumped for a bog standard one.

next is a boss bd-2 blues driver. i've used this for years, i use it as my main dirty/lead sound with little kick from the tonebender for more gilmour kinda sounds. it cleans up really nice on the guitars controls. have thought about something a little better or modded, but at the moment it works for me.

my delay currently floats betweed two pedals. i used to use a danelectro reel echo, which gives a nice warm vibe to the sound. though it has it's faults, such as a volume drop when it  was engaged and hiss. i got a boss dd-3 after hearing what mr bonamassa himself gets out of one. so far i like it, having thought it may be a little cold sounding. it's actually very warm sounding through my blues deluxe.

sometimes i kick on a EHX LBP-1 clone when i want to boost the volume for lead work or for driving the amp a little harder.

Had lots of dodgy old analogue pedals until recently I went to a TC electronic G system- simply because I got fed up with bending over during gigs fiddling around with the delay pedal etc - and for a man of my age it was a bit 'in-elegant' to say the least! Lol... It's great that I can still use my old fuzzface / tubescreamer / Budda Wah but program the TC to engage them as part of a pre-set- or I can stomp on a button for 'on-the-fly' stuff... the only drawback is it's a bit complex & the manual is about as much use as a chocolate kettle... but time will tell if it's a keeper- the echos/reverbs etc are fabulous tho'

This don't look like no express way to me...

Regular Dunlop Wah.  -->  Boss Line selector --> Channel A= Fulltone Fulldrive on light overdrive, Channel B= Ocean EFX Texas Deuce on Heavier Overdrive  -->  Ocean EFX Vintage Echo

I use nothing right now.  Guitar straight to the Amp.  I used to have a Boss Blues Driver, Dunlop Jimi Hendrex Cry Baby, Dunlop Fuzz FAce, Electro Harminex Big Muff, and a Boss stereo Chorus pedal.  Sold them all and go for clean sounds with the amp right now.  If I want to distort I will turn the amp volume up to get there.  I don't play out anymore and use a small practice amp so I can get away with that.

Since the Fuchs came on board I hardly use any pedals at all.  Rack effects are the way to go.  Everything is midi and preprogrammed.  No tweaking necessary.  Delay and verb times, trem, leslie...all there and programmed for each song.

I have a rack full of pedals that are mostly bypassed.  I'm experimenting with differnt OD pedals in front at the moment.  Corby...hint hint.

Boss Tuner, Vox Wah straight into the amp.


I used to have an Ibanez Tube Screamer, but I could live without it - so I sold it on ebay.

how are people liking the modded bd-2? i keep thinking of trading my stock one against the modded one. i've heard it's almost a fuzz with the keeley mods onboard.

Lately, it's been pretty straightforward.

   Guitar>Planet Waves Pedal Tuner>MO'D Clone>Eternity Clone>BYOC Chorus/Vibrato.

   Sometimes, I swap the Eternity Clone out, and use my Timmy.

   Basically, I play Guitar>Amp. The pedals are just for some variety, and once in awhile, a little Boost.

Curious as to why you go into the Vox Wha 1st and then into the Tuner?  I like the tuner first to mute the signal to everything after that if needed.  I use a cable with a Silent Neutric end on it and before that the Planet Wave Circut Breaker to change guitars but it's nice in case something goes down suddenly.

I can imagine why. If you have the tuner at first then the eventually hiss of active boost/dist pedals will still cause noise at playing breaks. Also the tuner (at least the Korg DT-10) has a buffer that compensate signal loss that happens after the path trough some pedals.
I like this way much better. May vary at other setups/amps.

Sweet Sound has the BEST Fuzzes I've tried, for variations on the Classic Tones.

     And the Keeley FuzzHead is also vaery nice. Versatile, too.
