Re: Cloud 9 chambered Les Pauls?

Dave-

bought a '58 Cloud 9 earlier this year & compared to the standard Gold Top LP I have - it's almost a completely different instrument.  Much 'airer' and less compressed sounding than most LP's- almost 335 like, and the weight reduction is most welcome given my back problems!  I've played Strats for years but this guitar has made me completely move to the 'Joe Side' ;-) ...  I don't think Gibson are making them any more- so if you can snag one better do it soon...

This don't look like no express way to me...

Same here. I had been looking for the "right" Les Paul for a year or so. I managed to track mine down second hand from a guy the other end of the country. It was hard work finding it but it was well worth the effort.

Mitch's description is spot on. It somehow gets the best bits of the 335 and the best of the LP. I think it sounds reminiscent of an older LP.

There's a little picture of mine in the favourite guitars thread, and it's under my name too, over on the left.  <----
