Topic: Thunder...by Thunder

Answering Shaunb's Wishbone Ash post got me thinking. Let's see if I have got some Thunder buddies out there. As anyone with a partiality for god honest gonad thumping rock played with great humour and dexterity will know, Thunder are one of the UK's finest rock bands. Great songs with great riffs played with great gusto by Danny, Luke and co. And they are on tour currently and will be here once again in Deutschland in the New Year. I shall be attending the Hanover gig and if there are any fellow Bonabuddy Thunder fans I shall be delighted to make your aquaintance and chew the fat, shoot the breeze and booze and boogie. "Bang!" is the new album and if you know Thunder, then you know the evening will go with one!

Re: Thunder...by Thunder

One of my all time favorite nbands. I have all the studio albums including Bang. The last 3 EP's, several live albums as well (none of the Xmas shows though) and several compilations. Danny is one of the best rock vocalists around and Luke one of the best song writers.

Preaching from A Chair is my favorite Thunder song.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Hi Reverend Paul, thanks for the note. Guess you don't get to see the boys out there too often. It's a shame. They are one of the great bands that have never quite broken through although the UK following is massive.
I think the stuff they are doing today just keeps getting better. I love the  songs where Luke digs at the music industry (not that he's bitter and Twisted of course!), like "Monkey See, Monkey Do" and "Andy Warhol Said". As you say Danny is one of the very best vocalists around and a great stage enterainer. I'm covering 3 of their songs and I have a lot of respect for what Danny does 'cos no way can I nail them like he can but hell, its a lot of fun trying.

What a great band, I've seen them live twice once at Wembley Arena when they were support to Deep Purple, and at Bristol on their own tour.

I was even lucky enough to get meet and greet passes for my daughter and me for the Bristol show. Really nice guys to chat to and my daughter had her photo taken with each of them.
