I used to watch Monte play in a small venue outside of austin in pflugerville called Hanover's. He played there every sunday to very few people, but always played incredibly. He'd be so amped by the end of the show, he'd routinely and literally yank most of the six strings right off of his acoustic from playing so hard.

Thanks shred! I forgot I was on Joe's forum after clicking on that link! I watched a version of Life Without You and literally cried a little.There is a version on there that's over 9 minutes,the sound is pretty good but I don't know what the camera man was doing though. See how deep Stevie was thinking when he gives that monologue in that song. OOPS sorry for changing the subject of this thread!

Wow, thanks Jim!...thats was so cool, I watched the entire program (45 minutes or so?)....I highly recommend this to any and everyone who loves music to watch it....I would love to have seen Montes face when Daryl Hall asks him to come to his home in Conneticut and record some music...the one word that jumped out was "harmony", he fit right in with the band...you better check your ego at the door if you want to get into an acoustic shred fest with that man, he's intimidating he's so good...I know almost nothing about him..I definetly got to research him...my wife would love him...."Evil Knieval with an acoustic", pretty funny and true

I was lucky to have seen him once in my life, just mesmorising!..... so sad to lose him so young...got to visit his gravesite someday
