Topic: Hello

Just another new person saying hello here. I've been into blues for awhile, playing guitar and bass very badly but with great pleasure. I first ran across Bonamassa last winter. I kept seeing rave reviews of "Sloe Gin" every time I turned around, and, as I was going through an "early Tim Curry" phase at the time,  I finally checked it out and just loved it - particularly amazed at "India". I'm a big SRV fan and find a lot of a similar sensibility in Joe's playing. I've not had a chance to hear him live yet, but I'm always looking for the chance. Cool to find this forum.

Re: Hello

Hi Boolz, welcome to Joe's forum. Sounds like you haven't seen Joe live yet? See if you can get tickets to see him live. As you will find out elsewhere on here, the CDs although brilliant are no match for seeing him live. I'll make no bones about it, you will never have seen anything as good! The memory of your first Joe show will live with you forever and it WILL NOT be your last! Come in and take a seat!

Re: Hello

Welcome Boolz !!

Hey Geoff you stole my words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are you from Bootz and tell something about yourself please! Come to the RAH show in May if possible so you can see Joe and meet us.

No better way than that!!

Re: Hello

Welcome to the forum Boolz. I was worried there for a second when you said you 'ran across' Joe last winter!! I know what you mean though. Yeah where do you live? Geoff is absolutely right of course....there is nothing like the live Joe experience, I recommend a dose of it asap!

Regards....Tripsy smile

Re: Hello

Hi Boolz and thanks for jumping in. FYI...Although there are many of us SRV fans here..J.B. does NOT like being told he sounds like him. If you want to research his influences, look to the early British Blues players....or better yet, read the Sirius Blues Thread..he gave tons of info. with his song selections. Most of all, get to a show. As good as LFNIP is..NOTHING matches a show experience! See you at thr RAH?     Cathy

Re: Hello

Thanks for all the welcomes, everyone. I'm in the US, in Colorado - I guess I should put that in my profile thing. No tour dates coming near here for awhile, as far as I can tell, but I'll get a chance to see a live show someday soon, I'm sure.

Hey, where in Colorado?? I'm in the Springs (Colorado Springs) and saw Joe in Winter Park this last summer. He should be back again this year because he has been there two years in a row. I guess I'll see you at the next concert!

Re: Hello

Hey...

Glad to have you here.

Seeing Joe in concert is the most amazing thing you can do.  Hope you get to see him real  soon.

I'm also a really big SRV fan and travel to Dallas every year for the SRV Ride.   Joe's played there twice and absolutely blows everyone away.

Your in great company being on this site....
