Heck yes, Colbert is hilarious. AND he helps me stay up to date with general world happenings.

even though if its really funny i can't help but laugh, i generally don't care too much for jokes that make fun of peoples misfortunes or those which are generally socially unacceptable
and like i don't dig too much a comedian making fun of their family too much. most of all i hate to be the subject of a joke! i mean i'll laugh at myself (a little). some things just aren't to be made fun of IMO.
i like seinfeld type of humor i guess

Again reminded of Gaffigan (sort of making fun of his wife): "My wife is always tired...or as she calls it "pregnant". The other day she was whining... I'm tired, I'm cold, I'm hungry...let me in".

Re: Favorite comedians???

You can never have too much Gaffigan...

"You know, you're not supposed to eat late at night, but then again you're not supposed to drink booze in the morning. And apparently you're never supposed to smoke crack...Well, whatever! I'm not training for the Olympics! I'm sorry but after an hour of work I wanna wind down with a burger and a crack pipe! If I do that every night does it make me a crackhead??"

Re: Favorite comedians???

Ever seen Chris Isaak live? his banter between songs is solid stand up. Perhaps you might remember a beer commercial he did I think for Miller Light. Chris tells the camera that life on the road can be rough with girls screaming and fussing and banging on your door at all hours of the night..........eventually you have to get up and let them out, BADDA BOOM.

Re: Favorite comedians???

George Carlin is my all time favorite. I always like Bill Cosby too. The one I really like now is Jeff Dunham. The way he interacts with the dummies keeps me rolling with laughter.

Re: Favorite comedians???

Jeffrey Ross is absolutely hysterical.  He's known as "The Roastmaster General" as he's done all of the Comedy Central Roasts.

Lisa Lampanelli is a riot as well.

Did I miss someone mentioning Eddie Murphy back in the day?

How 'bout Chris Rock?

As to those who are no longer with us: Lenny Bruce, George Carlin and Richard Pryor have to be at the top of the list.

Re: Favorite comedians???

George Carlin was an original who based much of his style on the absurd nature of the day to day obvious that most of us take for granted. A couple of comics I really enjoy work it somewhat the same way, Steven Wright and a relative newcomer Dimitri Martin. Dimitri also incorporates music and props into his act. One of my favorite Steven Wright jokes, "So I went to the convenience store the other night and the door's locked. I see the guy inside and yell hey the sign says open 24 hrs. and he yells back, yeah, but not in a row.

My son just played me some Catt Williams...OMG...we were laughing so hard.

After he turned that off I told him some stories (all true) about the TERRIBLE TRIO from back in the ghetto days...He wet himself.

Then..."Dad, does mom know those stories?"   NO!!!!
