Topic: Manchester Academy pics

'Twas a bit cramped down at the front. Thanks for posting the picture of the crowd on your Facebook page Joe. It was also freezing as the chilled air conditioning was pumped out under the stage - we had an icy blast in our face all night! Had a photo pass but they limited the access to the photo pit to three songs so we opted for the front row. Lighting was not good at all in my opinion. Need to get that right for the RAH. Lighting does add to the atmosphere of a show and perhaps a little more emphasis needs to be put on this Warren! Anyway, thanks to Greg for fixing up my photo pass, not sure whether you were with Joe's entourage, but thanks anyway. This was a tremendous show and in my opinion bettered the last Newcastle gig, which was my benchmark pinacle up to last Monday! Enjoy...

"There's a lot of people that are in so much of a hurry to be, I guess, to be famous or that they don't want to take the time to learn to play and do all that. They'd rather just knock it down off a computer and maybe get on a game show and get famous..That's fine if that's what you want to do.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the comliment! Once you have them up on flickr you need to put them in a set. when you have done this, simply click on the set, then click on slideshow. When the slideshow is running right click on the main address bar at the top of the screen and click copy. Then open up your comment page on the forum and paste it there. From memory, I think that should get you there.

The key, is organising your pictures into sets, which you can then put into collections. For example each of my JB gigs is a set - manchester, holmefirth, newcastle etc, which is in a collection called Joe Bonamassa. You can add key words later en-block. Flickr's great for sharing pictures, without having to copy and send or copy to disc

Great set of photos Geoff- great job! I have to agree on the lighting issues- I'm sure it's all a question of budget vs ticket price to be fair to Joe & the team- but certainly improving the light show & having specific 'moods' for certain songs would enhance the show no-end- but I'm not talking 'Pink Floyd' here!  Maybe also having a cool backdrop...erm..what about a huge 'JB' lettered backdrop in glitter sparkle & stars as flashing leds would be good ;-0 !!! (just kidding Joe)...

Maybe that's a new thread in the making... ??? (ha ha)

This don't look like no express way to me...

Re: Manchester Academy pics

Fantastic photos Geoff! Thanks for posting them.

Got a fright mind you when I saw myself and the missus in the first crowd scene.

(We're right in the middle of the pic about 4 back. I'm short of hair with glasses and the missus is blonde.)

Brilliant quality Geoff.

Thanks

Paul

Re: Manchester Academy pics

Great photos.
Wonder what happened to his gear for this show though, using two JCM2000s there...strange.

Re: Manchester Academy pics

This was a make up show. He and the band played on rented gear because his gear was on it's way to a different show.

What camera and lens are you using Geoff?

Re: Manchester Academy pics

Hey Geoff - just looking through your great pics again (sad isn't it - I gotta be a Bonaholic) and I spotted the top of my head on your second crowd scene. I think LynB is standing behind me!

Take a look at her post here:
