Topic: Great Dumble pedal clip

Corby from OceanEFX is on here a lot.  I know he would never post his own clip (he's way too humble) so, I thought I'd do it myself.
I came across tis link to an audio clip of his Pearl Drive which Joe has a prototype of somewhere and speaks highly of it.  Great playing from Harry Jacobson, too.

I know the Dumble pedal thing has been discussed before but check it out and let me know what you all think.

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

Wow, very smooth!  I wonder how the Wampler Ecstasy Drive would compare to that...

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

The clips on the Wampler sight don't do the Ecstacy pedal justice I'm sure.  the Brett Mason pedal sounds great though...of course Brett could play through anything and have it sound killer.

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I'm going to try out the Wampler line this weekend...I'll post back here what I thought of the Ecstasy Drive and the Hot Wired pedal...

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

As soon as I get cash together Im gonna order one from Corby Ive been saying that for a while now though things keep cropping up as soon as I get cash lol like this week my gfx card died..

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

Cool.  The Pearl Drive and the Zen are the two best I've heard...IMO.  Both are very warm and smooth with great articulation and dynamics.
Corby is great to deal with and responds very quickly to emails.  Good luck!  I keep saying that I'm ordering one, too and then get sidetracked.

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I bought the Ocean EFX Texas Deuce the other day.  It is a fantastic pedal.  I went to Baltimore  to the dealer there to try the Pearl but it wasnt in stock.

The Texas Deuce blew my mind though.  It is clearer than a Fulltone Fulldrive.  And and the gain is perfect.  Kind of TS808 ish with more volume and more gain. And much clearer.  You hear all the strings and they ring out better.  Its a great pedal.  The Boost is seperate so you can use it as just a boost or add the OD for a great sound.

It sounds great with a tele or Les Paul.

I just ordered the Pearl from Ocean EFX online.  I cant wait to get that one.  I'll be selling my Fulltone Fulldrive and OCD.

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I'm happy Corby and OceanEFX is getting some well deserved recognition on here.  I don't own one yet but from what I've heard he's making some of the finest boutique pedals available...with the all important Customer Service.  Props Corby.

Wow! For me that's saying a lot. I have a Custom Shop Full-Drive 2 that I just about leave on. It brings just the subtlest bit of punch. I leave it switched to no extra compression and the boost off. It just loads up the tone stack with a bit of caffeine without affecting the dynamics of my amp. I haven't heard of the Texas Deauce so I'll have to keep my ears out.

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I really wanted to add a Pearl Drive to my pedal board but can't find any Canadian distributers.

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

thanks for the kind words guys.  I really appreciate it!  By the way Slidewinder, you can order directly from me if you want...I ship to Cananda.

Peace,

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

You beat me to it, Corby.  I was gonna tell him that.

Corby, By the way, I'm still waiting for a response from my last email about what I'm trying to do pedal wise.  RH or Deuce?  What do you think would work in my situation?  Did you ever get that pearl prototype back?

Email me.  Thanks!!

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I think you may have missed my response...sent it again.

Later guys

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

Corby, I emailed from your site a few days ago asking about shipping cost to my location and build time, and still haven't heard back.

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I specifically remember replying to that email...I wonder what's going on here.  DannyG didn't receive a message from me on the same day.  Message re-sent...

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I'm now getting my emails from Corby at OceanEFX.  Problem solved?

Re: Great Dumble pedal clip

I just got word the PEARL is in the mail.  I'll post what I think about it as soon as I can.
I cant tell you all how much you should think about the Texas Deuce.  If you own a Fulldrive 2 you will not be disappointed with the Deuce.  It is a great pedal. Worth every penny.

My plan is to have the Texas Deuce as a mild overdrive and use the Pearl for leads. But we'll see what it sounds like.

check out Ocean EFX
