Topic: Hello from Chicago Dave in Charlotte, NC

Hello Everyone-

Thanks for letting me be part of this forum.  It's a great community of friends, musicians, and fans of JB.

I've been playing guitar for 30+ years and love the way Joe seemlessly blends styles so soulfully and with grace and not matter what type of music or guitar he's playing you can tell it's him.  IMO that's the sign of a true artist.

I will admit my love affair got off to a rocky start.  I had read somethings about him and looked for him on iTunes gave a listen and thought, naw this isn't for me.  Well, I kept reading things about him, his name was popping up here and there and thought I better give him another listen.  So instead I decided just to blindly buy and album (I'm too old call them anything else) which was "You and Me"  I was so blown away that by the end of the day I had purchased everything he had put out on iTunes.

I've turned so many people on to him and have seen him back in June in Greenville, SC and now just a few weeks ago in Charlotte.  Joe thanks for changing up the show! I would have been just as happy seeing what I did in Greenville but it was totally different.  That theramin was bad*sss!!  I would fathom I was one of a handful of people who knew what that was from the get go.  My wife who I'm ususally dragging to see "my music" is a die hard fan now too, and I even brought my 65yr old father to see him which was a trip.  The next day he called me up and wanted to know where he could get a DVD or CD of Joe, we're talking a man who's last music purchase was Willie Nelson's greatest hits on 8-track!

Anyway, it's great to be here, and good times to all! May all your life's dials go to 11!

Hey Dave, glad to welcome another new fan to Joe and to his forum!  There are a lot of great folks here on board.  Certainly can relate to your feelings about seeing Joe the first time.  Both shows were awesome and the Raleigh show the following night after the Charlotte show was incredible as well.  If you like spreading the word about Joe, you might think about joining the Street Team and when Joe comes around again you can assist in promoting the show.  Might be a year or so down the road the next time Joe comes back.

Music is good for the Soul...

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Welcome to the Forum Dave. Love the story about your Dad!! We are not only international, we're multigenerational too! NOT that I think he's very old, mind you. smile Good thing you didn't give up on Joe before you really got aquainted...you would have missed magic!!! Thanks for sharing your tale.    Cathy

Hey Chicago Dave welcome to the Forum.  I live in hickory not too far from charlotte.  My wife, my father, and 3 of our friends went to the Charlotte show.  I'm glad you finally got into Joe and gave him that second chance.  He's come a long way with his solo stuff and it shows.  I'm glad your dad dug him too!
