Topic: Eric Sardinas in Germany

After having toured with Johnny Winter, Eric started yesterday his own German tour in Stuttgart. He is in brilliant form. I´ve seen him three times the last time, and it was the best gig I saw yesterday. Eric was playing with a new drummer who was much more sensitive than the old one. The band has found a nice balance of traditional blues - Eric was playing two Robert Johnson songs - and hard bluesrock.
Go and see him if you live in Germany or nearby.

Gunter,

I don't live nearby, BUT will be seeing Eric for the first time in about a month, right HERE in Southern California.  Actually, it will be EXTRA exciting because Coco Montoya will be there too!!!  I'm expecting to have my socks knocked off by both of them....... we caught Coco this past May as he joined Little Feat at the Doheny Blues Festival.  We were impressed.  smile

Thanks for the upbeat post and praise!!  Makes the anticipation even sweeter!!

(edited to read....."as HE joined Little Feat" instead of, as I had originally typed, as "WE joined Little Feat" - hehehehe - oops!!!!  I mean, I WAS next to the stage, but not ON it.  LOL.)

I know that Joe could play one of those kid's guitars with the plastic strings and make it sound good-

Yes, it was another great night! I have seen Eric Sardinas for the 3rd time now and he really never fails to impress me ... he´s just got his own style - nobody sounds like him. And these guitars - they look like they were dragged through the centuries for a looooong time, but still sound so sweet. smile He also has a new drummer, who seems to be a very funny guy...
I especially liked his versions of "Hellhound on my trail" and the last song "Roadhouse Blues" (in a ROCKING version ....). Great from the first to the last second!

Libby darling - you´re in for a treat!! And please tell us if he has shaved his beard by the time you see him - he looks better without it. wink

P.S.: Now I´m countin the days for Walter Trout playing a birthday concert for me in Nürnberg!! big_smile

You are lucky, Libby, in special if they are playing together. Would only be topped by Joe and Eric playing together.

It's interesting Günter...... it LOOKS like perhaps they ARE playing together...... just from the way things appear in the ad....... I haven't asked the venue yet....... I sort of wanted to be SURPRISED.  I can't begin to imagine what the TWO of them on the stage together for a whole show might be like.  Wow!!!

And yes, I am, VERY, very lucky indeed......and equally grateful.  wink
