Hey folks!!!
Right now my mind is full with guitar equipment i need to buy hehe.
And since i need one and since im bored Ill just ask what kind of distortion/overdrive pedals you use and/or recomend?
Im using a Marshall jackhammer. Its a good distortion pedal but now im not playing as much heavy rock as i did before so its like "to much"...
So what do you use and recomend? 
I use an Analogman modded Boss DS-1 for distortion and a Analogman modded Turbo Tube-Screamer for boost on solos. I highly recommend both. Gonna pick up a Timmy pedal for more of a clean boost thing. Good luck.

Right now I use a Keeley modded BD-2 overdrive, Effects Pedal Boutique SRB-808+ Overdrive, and for distortion an AMT British Sound.
I had the Keeley DS-1 Ultra, and it really wasn't for me. I'd love to try the new Fulltone Robin Trower overdrive!
I reccomend the Visual Sound Jekyll & Hyde. It is two pedals in one! One side is a Tube Screamer style overdrive, and the otherside is a heavy Marshall sounding distortion. They feature bass boost, eq and sharp/blunt controls, and give two different sounds. The best thing about them is that you can use both sides at ones for an amazing tone.
here is a video of me using the pedal with the "tube screamer" side on, and at 0:48, I turn the "marshall" setting on along with the "tube screamer setting".
you can probably go to you tube or something like that and search sound clips of different OD pedals. get an idea of what different ones sound like before you buy one. i've used lots of differnt ones in the past, right now my board has 3, TS-808 tube screamer ( one of the OLD vintage ones ), Fulltone Fulldrive 2, and Keeley clean booster. search around, see what you like.
I had a boss blues driver for years that served me well. They might not be the best and they might not be the most bang for your buck but I can tell you they can take a beating! If your just going for a boost with overdrive the Ibanez 808 tube screamer sounds beautiful when played with a cranked up amp just ask all the SRV fans.

Anyone knows if the Marshall Guv'nor pedal is any good? Just a pedal i wanna check out
What kind of guitar and amp are you using? That will make a large difference in what would be a good recommendation.
And, are you playing music more similar to Brad Paisley, Joe Bonamassa, or Michael Burks?
There's so many great guitars, amps, and predals out there, nowadays! You can really get things "Tailored" to what you want.
For example, I LOVE my Timmy into a Blackfaced type amp. Even more, when using Single Coils instead of Humbuckers.
And when using my Budda amps, (EL-84), I think my RAT type pedal just smokes.
Another thing that is important, is Volume and usage. Some pedals work better with am amp whose power tubes are already cooking or at least simmering on the edge of breakup. Other pedals work better with totally clean amps.
And are you using the pedal mostly at home? Or, are you using it in a Group/Band situation? Some pedals sound great at living room levels, whrn you're playing alone, and really don't sound good in a Band Mix. While other pedals aren't really too impressive when playing by yourself. But, when in a Band Mix, they might sound incredible.
So, Styles, Usage, Amp types (What type of Tubes? Or, is it Solid State? etc.), Guitars used. All of that really makes an impact.
The good news is, there's so many great choices nowadays!

Great advice. There are so many options out there along with many combinations. It's all trial and error. We should start a pedal exchange program. Trade em back and forth and so on. What do you think?

OCEAN EFFECTS. Texas Deuce. It is fantastic. I also love fulltone. A Fulldrive for a creamy 808 and some or OCD if you want a bit more.
Marshall Gov'ner's are ok. Not my cup of tea though.

Thanks for bringing up the Jekyll & Hyde and posting that video. It sounded great! In fact, it inspired me to take a trip to the store to check one out myself. Gas got the best of me and that pedal followed me home!

That might be pretty cool! How would it work?
I do have a couple that may be of interest. What is a Pedal you'd like to try? Maybe one of us already has it.
