This was the deal.  The offer was made at least a month ago, and everyone had a chance to pitch in ideas to Jim, and Jim was going to give me one cd to play.

I shall play what Jim gives me.

How many other people are getting a full 60 minutes of air time on a statewide radio station, as well as streaming world wide?

Not even my best friend gets that deal.

You know what they say. If you don't want anything done then assign it to a committee. I thought it appropriate to have the entire hour off the new release as Bill suggested. The alternate was to include a couple of more songs. I just had to do the original live version of Heartaches because that is the first song I ever heard of Joe's. The second song was Color and Shape. Hence those two be included on the second disc.

So with the time drawing close and those two CD's are on their way north it is an either, or the other proposition.

Here are two different discs I sent Dino. One all comprised of NWIP tracks and one I included a couple of ANDY live tracks that I felt have a lot of meaning to me as well as others here. Should he play the entirley new or throw in some classic live tracks

Disc One 56:36
    So Many Roads
    Another Kind Of Love
    Sloe Gin
    Walk in my Shadows
    One of These Days
    Highwater Everywhere
    Bridge To Better Days
    Django/Just Got Paid

Disc Two 56:42
    Sloe Gin
    Walk in my Shadows
    One of These Days
    Bridge to Better Days
    Heartaches Were Nickels from Andy
    Color and Shape
    High Water Everywhere
    So Many Roads
    A New Day Yesterday/Starship Trooper

My choice would be Disc One.

Re: My offer to you...

Or, and this is a true test of charecter.

I am also doing the same time slot on Nov 21.

6 to 9 pm.

You do not get Bonamassa both times.

So, Moods...do you want to reevaluate, maybe reach out to the man himself or Roy, and consult with them?

Moods, your still the boss.

I am going to call you on Friday, and your going to tell me what the score is.

I could also not play any Joe B, and instead play a full hour of my friend.

Re: My offer to you...

Dino..You need to read Joe's interview where he talks about the importance of gaining fans.  "I could also not play any Joe B, and instead play a full hour of my friend."...Not sure why this kind of attitude is needed. NOT the way to make people want to interact with you. And, Jim and Phil may have moods, but they are mods. I wish you luck along with your humble pie.   Cathy

(All this from one of your fans!)

Re: My offer to you...

How about this then Cathy...I choose, as the programmer of my radio show not to play any bonamassa.  I am not working for Joe, Joe and Roy have not asked me to do this, there is no upside to it really.  I have not even got a thank you from Joe, management, or the publcist.

I thought it would be a nice gesture.  the live record is out, I thought why not do something unique as a favor to the growing legions of bonamassa fans.

But really Cathy, I have no responsibility to be nice, to play Joes music, or anything related to humble pie.

In this, I do not need any humble pie.  I challenge you to find any radio show that made this offter, to play 60 minutes of bonamassa music programmed by the bonamassa message board?  Even Joes sirius radio show is not 60 minutes of Bonamassa music.

How about thank you?

The attitude is needed because this did not just come up this week.  The Oklahoma Kid had to get suggestions and make a choice on what would go.

Now, at the last minute someone discovers the offer.

I do not need to gain fans, this act alone is a good thing.  You do not need to like me to sit back and here Joe B be played world wide for a full 60 minutes.  You should thank me for doing it.

Re: My offer to you...

Hi Dino

I'm sure there will be plenty of people happy to thank you once/if you have broadcast the songs smile

As an aside, I can't say I endorse any of the Joe selections listed above, Bridge To Better Days is there, but where are the rest of Joe songs?

Mountain Time, Asking Around For You and Woke Up Dreaming are live staples and rightly so.  They are representative of what seeing Joe live is about. To me, it seems little point without them.

Re: My offer to you...

If I understand correctly Jim has made this selection based mainly on the latest live recording. How in the name of everything that is holy can you NOT include Mountain Time???

Surely that's an absolute MUST!!!

Re: My offer to you...

I chose the songs based more on it being a blues show. I knew if I threw in JGP there was 17 minutes a little rockish.

Cathy Moods is an acceptable nickname to me. My sons email is Colinmoods@ all his friends call him Moods. So I'm used to hearing it.

All this was proposed several days ago. I appointed myself the programmer I guess. I had to put it in wav. All my Bonamassa catalog on the computer was mp3 or itunes. I loaded NWIP into Pyro so I could burn the disc. That is what I came up with. I thought it more important to get it to him on time than spend hours debating the songlist.

Re: My offer to you...

If you look, this was proposed several WEEKS ago, and I maid Moods the man.  Because he has my mailing address.

As far as your comment Greennose, I have delivered on everything I ever said about the radio show in the past, you can ask around.

The good people wanted Joe, I said I would play Joe, and I played Joe.  So, my credibility is not in question.  My track record proves it.

Re: My offer to you...

Dino, I'm not questioning your past commitment to playing Joe's music. That can be seen and I'm sure it is appreciated by both forum members and Joe's team.  My point was you are asking for thanks for this offer. Yes it is a great offer and I'm sure plenty thanks will be coming your way once you have done your Joe show.

I stand by my comments about the set list proposed. While I appreciate a long discussion on a set list is not required, you did ask for our suggestions Jim.  I do feel strongly there should have been more of Joe's original songs ie Mountain Time, Asking Around For You and Woke Up Dreaming.  Thse are the songs that help to distinguish Joe. Having said that I would prefer either of those set lists than no Joe at all.

Hope the show goes ahead! Cheers

Re: My offer to you...

Shall we then...the radio station is run by volunteers.  I do not get paid.  It is illegal to have advertising on a community radio station, so I am not benefiting advertisers.  I actually drive 60 minutes through northern Wisconsin to do a radio show from 9 pm to midnight, then I drive an hour home.

I do not get a check for so many streams.

I have not asked for the favor yet, so you cannot be sure what that is.

The offer was this...I play 60 minutes of Joes music, on a cd provided to me by the Moods, in exchange AFTER I do that, I would ask for a favor.

So, I did not ask for a favor, I did not ask for anything.  Except maybe the cd in advance from Moods.

What price tag is there for you?  Listening? To one of your favorite artists get played for 60 minutes in a row on a radio program?  Yeah, how often does someone make that offer to you?  The folks in Europe can listen, call in whatever, ONLINE.

I did not say that I need 1000 hits to my myspace page BEFORE I will do it.  No, no no.  I said I would ask after I did.

Again, to prove to you all that I would live up to my word.  I was going to be the guy who did the thing before asking anything of you.  BEFORE you even got asked, I was going to do it.  Unconditional.  My end would be delivered, could not take it back, the songs would have been played...before...anything was asked.  So even if I asked it, you could have just said eh, we got what we wanted.

But now I have to say that Ragamuffin1's response has me questioning.  I have asked for no praise or thanks(save out of anger in a response), I had simply asked that the process not be something I have to take part in.

We put up two threads offering to let you submit songs, and Moods was going to make them fit into 60 minutes.  Now, AFTER the cds have been done and mailed, then suddenly people want to take part.

And I am told to eat humble pie.  Well yeah, thats not going to go over well, not well at all.

I do not need you to thank me, or clap or even listen.  But Moods took the time to make CDs for you all to choose from, and rather than appreciating his work, people question it.

Whatever man.  Lets not try to read my mind, and let us not assume my motivation.  I take offense to your post.

Re: My offer to you...

Hey, let's all be cool....can you post the link for listening on the web please?

Re: My offer to you...

Yeah, thats easy for you to say, you just weren't insulted by Ragamuffin.

Run home to Mamma?  I am glad I made the offer.  I am glad I demanded SO MUCH in return.

Re: My offer to you...

Relax... breath in... breath out...   Come on people, let's relax.  Dino, please play Jim's CD.  I can't imagine a universe where all of us on the JB forum would agree on a set list.  (Dangit, I want THE RIVER!)  It will forever be debatable.  Since we will never agree on the set list, let's at least agree that 60 minutes of JB on the radio will be amazing.

I agree that the proof is in the pudding... Dino, please play the CD and then everyone will know you do what you say.  Who cares about a few sentences posted on a forum by people who have never met, have never exchanged glances or viewed body gestures (my point, no need to get upset, NO ONE needs to get upset!).  For the record, I will thank Dino.  Thank you Dino, you rock smile  Now feel the love gosh darnit!

Re: My offer to you...

Dino, I have said this before. In some cases people are better said than read. You my friend are one of those. You had me so mad once upon a time I had my finger on the ban trigger. You got a reprieve by Mr B himself.
Then we talked and I had a better understanding where you were coming from.

Don't punish Joe because some people don't understand your methods. Any friend of Joe's is a friend of mine. That is all I have to say. Let the Bonamassa hour play on.

Re: My offer to you...

Indeed typed words can always be mis-represented...

Re: My offer to you...

If I had access to a radio station and was able to play whatever music I wanted, and even if I had a 2 hour commute to do it, brother I assure you I would be playing music that I love.
I wouldn't be askin for favors to do it. I would pick out the songs myself from the heart and then I would play them. I would also have the courtesy to give a heads up to anyone with similar tastes in music a chance to listen in. So Dino you either love Joe or you don't. Play him or don't play him, just be a guy.

By the way Dino...You originally told us that you were going ask us to do a little something for you as part of playing Joe's CD for the hour...Did you ever tell us what that was?...If I missed it on this thread, I apologize...
