Topic: Springfield,MO Gillioz Theatre 10/3/08

This was my first live Joe experience, and i was blown away!!

I have all of the albums, and he is a huge musical inspiration to me personally, but this was my first time to see him live!!

First off, the Venue was perfect for this style of show, as it was an old Rialto type theatre, with about 800 capacity. So i would say i was lucky to be on the 6th row.

He pretty much played the same setlist ive beeen reading about in other shows, and the crowd was very talkative, prompting Joe to "shush" them a few times. Also the crowd was clapping during "Woke Up Dreaming", i think that kind of irritated him.

And just to show that nobody is perfect,(actually i guess it would be an equipment malfunction), Joe's VOX Wah-wah didnt work, and he was very upset by that. He shouted some expletives when it wouldnt stomp on, so then he shredded another solo with furious anger, Wah-Wah free.. IT was of course a sight to behold.

I have to say, Joe is the greatest guitarist i have EVER seen, and ive seen some greats.

On a scale of 1-10 id say the show was a 9.5, and even my wife(who isnt a blues fan) enjoyed it thouroughly. She said Joe seemed so humble, and appreciative of the fans. HE mentioned on of the first shows he had ever done was in Springfield..

Anyways, ive got some pics ill post.... Keep rockin Joe, i cant wait to see you again!!!

Hi HLH,
Yeah, you can have all the cds and dvds, watch every single clip on You Tube but there is NOTHING like seeing Joe perform live with his fab band especially for the first time.
You'll be counting the days til the next time.
Five weeks today til Manchester. Sooo looking forward to it.

That is so true Tripsy, I have heard that so many times, there is no comparison in seeing Joe Live!
Glad you enjoyed your first Joe experience Heavy...  It is worth it to travel a little bit to see Joe play too...

Music is good for the Soul...

This was an awesome show. The crowd seemed to think it was funny to clap out of time on Woke Up Dreaming... I don't know why. I was in the third row and got some video.

I dont think they were purposely clapping out of time. I just think most of them had no rhythm.
PS - Thanks for the video
