Topic: On your marks.... JB & BDS

I'll be looking for those reviews in the morning. To all you guys and gals who are going tonight, have a good one and lets hear the report tomorrow. Hopefully someone will sneak a camera / vid in there. Jeez I wish I was there!

Re: On your marks.... JB & BDS

And so - I must take a moment to thank Jim (SRV) from the bottom of my heart, for calling me and allowing me to have a little taste of the HOB experience...... including the whole BDS set.  Jim hung up eventually and was going to call me back for the long anticipated JAM....... but, I'm sorry to report........it did NOT happen...... no jam........

HOWEVER, the CALL meant the WORLD to me.  And the show, I know, even without the JAM, was just awesome for Jim!!!  He said they ALL just NAILED it.  He won't be able to post until he returns home on Tuesday - so, I'll speak for him and tell you that he was blown away by Joe, the guys and by Back Door Slam.

He's having fun for all of us - that includes YOU Shreddy.  smile    I'm happy for him, Susan, Ken, David A., Jim, and Phil too.

Re: On your marks.... JB & BDS

no jam.  highly highly disappointing.  not that often do you get two players like that in a room together.

that is disappointing. We'd been speculating on the BDS forum as to what the jam song might be sad

Re: On your marks.... JB & BDS

Mmmmm, well..... A bit of a let down eh folks. Here we were hyping it up and.....flump! Oh well, never mind, I guess it was distined not to happen. Hope things were ok behind the scenes though and that they all hit it off together.

I guess with touring, it must be like two billiard balls rolling together on a billiard table, touching each other and then going off in their own directions. Lets hope they get a chance to cannon off each other at some point in the future and that they stay on the table and not get pocketed!

Damn, I was so looking forward to that meeting being so good! I still reckon it was a great night though! Keep rockin!

Re: On your marks.... JB & BDS

I have no doubts that they all hit it off. BDS are a very polite, down to earth group of young men. I know they gave Joe many accolades. I imagine them hanging out and playing together off stage. Joe giving Davy some tips for survival on the road. At any rate, I'm certain it was all good.      Cathy

Re: On your marks.... JB & BDS

Agreed Cathy, and before I speculate on why the jam never came to fruitation, I'll await Joes take on the night.
He knows this was much anticipated by lots of folks on his forum so hopefully he'll shed more light on why they didn't ? Either way wish I was there to see 2 of my favs on the same stage.
                                                                                     Cheers  Paul

i doubt they played together off stage.  if they did, why wouldn't they have played on stage?  i doubt they hated each other or anything like that, but i don't think any playing together took place.
