Topic: Happy 83rd Birthday B.B. King

I really enjoy reading B.B. interviews, just a wonderfully humble man that loves music, women and the thirst for knowledge.  I still think one of the sweetest stories is how B.B. showed Joe how to download songs to his pod.  I would like to visit B.B.'s museum some day.

I agree Angela, a very humble man. Gee, I'd like to visit the museum too someday, but even more so like Joe has done, I'd like to visit with the man himself. Happy Birthday to Riley B. (B.B.) King! Also, very nice write up in Blues Revue Magazine with a great cover photo of The Man.

Happy Birthday to the man that put blues music into the mainstream, and "discovered" a certain native New Yorker whom we've come to know and love.

Great musician, great man.  If you haven't yet, don't miss the opportunity to see him live.  It's like a blues history lesson punctuated with the unique sound of BB and Lucille, backed by a great band.

Happy Birthday to "The Man".The word "legend" is often overused, but not where this guy is concerned. Also, thanks to him, the world was introduced to another "legend" in the making, and here we are today, eternally grateful for that..... cool

Happy Birthday BB and thanks for all the great music!

Re: Happy 83rd Birthday B.B. King

He's probably one of the biggest music influences of all time! He's one of mine for sure, but how he just played the blues, and still does, amazes me still. He never ceases to amaze me! I mean, if he never came into the scene, would Joe be as popular today?
He helped Joe just as much also!

A salute to.............THE MAN!!!! and thanks to Bill Graham for crossing him over to the younger white music lovers years ago at the Fillmore East & West as he also did with Albert and Freddie King and Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Muddy Waters, and all the other blues legends. As BB once stated his bus pulled up at the Fillmore East for a show and he thought the driver made a wrong turn, but actually his career made a turn in a whole new direction.
