Topic: Wish me luck....

Tomorrow I will be going on stage for the first time in the talent show at my school (any tips????). I will video up if any is taken. I'll link the band page here at the bottom. We mix rock, metal, and blues (me of coarse) into something that sounds really cool. The video on the page has me doing a bit of Miss You Hate You.

Good luck, hope it goes well! My only tip would be whilst you must obviously focus on the music, make sure you're not too static on the stage either. Its always better to see musicians move about a little on stage smile

Good luck.

Be confident.
Talk to the audience before a song, look at them, make eye contact and smile.

Most of all - just enjoy !!

Hope there's some video you will share.

Re: Wish me luck....

I have absolutely no worries that you will rock this contest! After having seen you play on some of your little youtube videos, I´m actually pretty SURE that you will rock this show together with your band ... smile

Looking forward to the video!

Re: Wish me luck....

JBSRV,

My friend, I've taken a listen on your site - if that is really your band playing on those tracks you have NO worries.

Well , the first time you play on a stage and hundreds of your student buddys applaud your first song - you will be hooked for life.

How will they get you lot off the stage ??

Trust me , I've heard a few student bands - you have a great sound , the vocalist sounds very much like the Goo Goo Dolls vocalist.(Don't let him go.)

If you were in the U.K. I'd be ringing around, getting you a contract.

Good Luck, you won't need it.

Making sure everything is safely tucked away of course !!
(I speak from experience.........thankfully many years ago now but the eyes still water at the thought.......and even more thankfully, not on a stage).

Re: Wish me luck....

Good luck and have fun! Remember to go to the front of the stage when you do a solo, don't just hang back and be shy.

Re: Wish me luck....

Thanks all of you! I just got home and I think we did well. No videos that I know of but there could be some coming soon. Thanks again.

Re: Wish me luck....

advice -
dont play the songs too fast. new bands always tend to start on good tempo and get faster and faster as the song goes on. Make sure you keep your rhythm and be articulate with your guitar playing...

Re: Wish me luck....

Let it all hang loose. Go out there and take no prisoners. But above all, have fun. Enjoy it. If you find yourself white knuckling, just relax and let the music flow.
